If food is a good idea, I've had a lot of success with igourmet.com, and their prices while not inexpensive are much more reasonable (they have great cheese gift packs, for example). If they like tea or coffee, a nice gift box of that might be appreciated. Flowers are always a good backstop, too. Or a nice box of chocolates. If they like Spanish foods, Latienda.com has good authentic Spanish cured ham, olives, things to make paella, spanish hot chocolate (which is almost like chocolate pudding)... Haha, can you tell I have a family that likes food gifts?
