Cinderella -- cindy for short -- "becoming a beautiful princess" -- I could REALLY like that. Long it sounds a lot like "lunabella" but David's the ONLY one who ever calls Luner that. ("luner" "luna" - there are times when 'm tempted to call her MOON Unit ... or sometimes Dweezil ... sorry, I digress!)
On my list folks -- I can see it now -- this will be a big topic of conversation on our way back -- little does this little gal know her 'behavior' in a motel room will shape her DESTINY!! LOL
I mean ... part of a name is the potential for NICKNAMES.
As for the bootie thing -- I've done this for years. I've posted it and people think I'm crazed but THEY WORK.
Booties or socks -- usually in layers. You invert them over a bottle, and paint them thick with rubber cement. Let dry and coat again at least once more. You can make dog boots that rock this way -- the bottoms are totally flexible and yep, washable. You can put others inside, you can layer them. but for winter wear in deep snow you can even put a pair on the 'outside' that are knee socks or mens sport socks. Take a shoestring and poke it thru the outside of the sock and knot it. After you get all four socks on tie them in the middle of the top of the back in a bow and you've got boots that will STAY ON. Just put a sweater or t-shirt over the top and you've got something that WORKS.
Do it in team colors or something fun and you have a functional conversation piece.
In this case I'm just gonna use little girl fluffy ponytaiil holders over the ankle (put onzie on first, then socks over that and THEN the holder). it won't be too tight, it WILL stay on and all I have to do is snag them off when we get in the car and we're good to go.
I had a pom peke mix who HATED SNOW. She would try to go down stairs on two legs (which two? ANY two). But she was SO sensitive to cold and when she got snowballs in her feets THE WORLD STOPPED.
In this case, I've got a dog with a contact allergy -- AND the more covered I keep her til she heals the easier it will be for her.
There IS a whole LOT to that maxim to 'cover' a dog who licks, itches, or is anxious. This will keep her a bit more secure -- she'll feel like she's got something KEWEL (trust me -- I will parade her thru the reception area of the motel to get all kinds of "OHHHH SHE'S SOOOOO CUTE" before we leave (rather than the "oh that poor thing" pity junk she's gotten so far).
Now ... all I need is one of those trucks like they had in the Beverly Hillbillies. You know... the one where Granny got to ride in her ROCKER on top so you could wave at everbuddy?? I want one of those!!
it will turn pity into fun. And I've already laid in a supply of treats AND Calms so the night of the 4th will be this HUGE "whoooo hoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo" fireworks training party!! "Lookit the PRETTIES in the sky (shove food) BOOM BOOM?? FUN huh?" Cos I'm sure where ever we are there will be rockets SOME place *sigh*
