Ugh--I'm scared--need good thoughts and prayer

Well, I have been having some chest pains and had a chest x-ray done. They found something suspicious and so they did a CT scan and told me that there is a "mass" of some sort in my chest, near where my lymph nodes would be apparently. They said it could be inflammation, a swollen lymph node, or something more "concerning."

I really scared that is is some kind of cancer. I'm only 27. I did smoke on and off from 16-18 but that was not even a pack a day. I haven't smoked for years, and lung cancer isn't in my family.

I'm going to the doctor tomorrow and I *really* scared. I could use all the prayer and/or positive thoughts I can get......

You got 'em. I certainly hope it's nothing "more serious" or even any variation thereof. I know how scary that must be... and I really feel for you.

I hope you get back clear test results tomorrow, I'll be thinking of you. I'll be looking for some good news.

Christina I'm not a doctor but the very first thot I had was "cancer doesn't usually hurt" -- so let that help carry you thru tomorrow.

You will be on my heart and right now I'm sending myself an email at work so I can have your name up to lift you up during the day as well. I'm sorry hon, truly I am. I went thru something quite similiar when I was 30 and I spent tons of time (test after test) being scared out of my mind.

so let the group hug you get here help you -- can you feel it???? *Squeeze*

As a former smoker, I think there's always that fear that lingers. I will be thinking good thoughts for you for your visit tomorrow.

A swelling of nodes might mean a simple infection cleared up by a week's worth of antibiotics. I wouldn't assume cancer. At worst, it might be a benign cyst. I had a sub-cutaneous benign cyst removed when I was 20.

Thinking good thoughts with the hunch, nigh onto a certainty, that you're going to be just fine.

I am sending many prayers and good thoughts. I highly doubt it is cancer with you being so young. Remember that scares like this happen to *tons* of people every day and much more often than not it turns out be little cause for concern. *hugs* Let us know how everything goes tomorrow okay? And sleep easy!
