What would you put into a puppy packet?

I'm sure it's been gone over before but humor me! So far I've got:
    Signed Contract
    AKC reg paperwork
    Pedigree
    Photos baby-baby to present
    Photos of Dam and Sire
Handout with links to good sites for crate training/potty training, general puppy care
    List of book recommendations
    Dose of Frontline
    Dose of Heartguard/Interceptor
    Health/Shot record
    Puppy Collar
    Chewman that smells like home

Now staying within the realms of reasonable...anything else?

How about the names of local trainers that you would suggest?

I give a packet of training/breed info instead of links so they have that in hand.

Along the same lines, how about a clicker, and a brief little intro to clicker training. I gave someone I know who just got a puppy (a beagle too actually) a clicker, and taught her how to use it. She thought it was great, and was totally impressed that within a few minutes, the dog learned sit. I also have a new found appreciation of beagles, because of the fact that they are hungry little scent hounds, which makes training them easy, or at least it is true of this particular beagle.

Looks good to me, except I agree there should be a sample of food.  And maybe info on the national breed club (if you're a member).

You have a good puppy packet but I also would definitely
add to it a weeks supply of the puppy food it has been eating and a toy.

We have a really nice metal comb.  I was combing the dogs and asked my wife where we got it - "from the breeder".

Thanks guys for the ideas! The "Chewman" listed is a soft toy made of fleece that squeaks & really picks up smell well. I thought I'd send one of those as it'd smell like home :)

Good idea about the food as well...

    Appreciate the input!

I would suggest a kong except for the price. Maybe at least a picture of one and information on them. Most people don't have a clue where to find them when I suggest them. And we all know how valuable they can be[:)]

Copies of an emergency treatment form incase there is ever an auto accident or someone else is keeping the puppy/dog for some reason.  Copies of a document outlining the dog's care and ownership incase of the original owner's death or disability.  I also had some addressed post cards with stamps that were printed with updates for the breeder.  Easy to just drop in the mail.  I also had a couple of index cards printed with some first aide (household medication dosages) and fun poems.  All in MS Word format if you would like them.  A kennel noose just in case they need a leash (I suggest they keep it in the glove box of the car).

Add a puppy and send me the whole package and I'll tell you how well it works out!!!  [:D]

I'm here to help you out!
