    Old Cartoons

What's your favorite old cartoon? "Old" means anything...that's not still being made...preferably, you know, from like the 60's or before, but whatever.

I grew up watching Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Foghorn Leghorn, and Porky Pig (as well as Barney, My Little Pony, and Gummi Bears...I WAS a late 80's kid.. LOL), and I was thinking about how my niece and nephew had never even SEEN them. I have extremely vivid memories of getting up every single Saturday morning, waking my dad up, and we both squashed into his comfy chair and sat there watching these cartoons. Well he only lived in that house with us til I was 4, so I was pretty young...

And yeah, okay, maybe Dora and the Wiggles and WordGirl have a little more to offer than Bugs and Daffy, but dangit they're just not as much FUN.

So off in search of vidoes or DVDs of old Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies, I came across one of my absolute FAVORITE shorts ever. We had this on video, and I can't tell you how many millions of times I made my dad rewind so we could watch it again. I'd feel bad, but I know he enjoyed just as much. Stick out tongue Tweety's debut, before he even had a name...

Who else grew up with Merrie Melodies? Or what was your favorite cartoon growing up?

Ooh, you guys weren't kids for this one (old people! ha!), but Captain Planet was fun.. 4 of my cousins and I used to "play" Captain Planet.. we had rings and did the fists in the air thing.. ohh..good times.

    • Gold Top Dog

if you want to see something ultra cheesy... look for the hulk hogan cartoon or the great space coaster (gary gnu was my fav character on that one) or possibly a cartoon based on meatloaf (meatballs and spaghetti).

    • Gold Top Dog

Someone said the Jetsons - yay!

    How about Underdog?

And does anyone remember Kimba?  It was about the jungle and a young lion (sort of a precursor many years before The Lion King).
