Very excited over a simple little thing!

I finally found a tough, sturdy 50 FOOT!!!! tracking/training lead line with a nice sturdy clasp for Ginny!! I've been meaning to get one for the longest time but finally saw a nice one at the local feed store.

This means I can finally let her run around with her small circle of dog friends in our nearby park, and would be able to grab her if she began to run off/a strange dog approached etc. She can finally be (semi) off-leash haha! I am willing to deal with gathering up/untangling/carrying 50 ft on nylon cord to and from the park if it means she can run around with Hansel and Tree (her two bestest pittie buddies). The only danger I can think of is getting tangled up and tripping herself...but for people that use long lines, do you find that to be a problem?

     Tractor Supply Co.?  LOL!

I found a 50 ft. nylon lead with a nice handle at the end and a sturdy clasp that I use to let Woobie go into our lake.  The only problem I've experienced is getting myself caught up in it as he walks around me or tangled with Indie since I originally tried to have them both go in the water on separate lines.   But Indie didn't want to go in since there wasn't any ducks or geese to chase and Woobie got tangled up with him while trying to entice him to come play in the water.  The only other thing I worry about is the nylon cutting his skin if he got it tangled around his leg and tried to run away.  But, it hasn't been an issue so far.  I do like that it sheds the water instantly and doesn't stay damp and get yukky like the cotton lead I had been using did.

Oh, and it does burn your skin if you try to grab it and the dog is running away.  Learned that one the hard way!

Isn't it great when you finally get that long line!? Lol.

Maze doesn't get to tangled up in it but I'm more worried about her wrapping it around MY legs (which she has done). Also I suggest (if possible) to put in stops along the length of the rope so you have something to grab on to without getting ropeburn. Again another lesson I learned the hard way. Lol.

But over all I haven't had many problems with it. In the beginning thou Maze would trip and look really put out until she learned how to move her legs in a way so the rope just kinda falls to her feet and she jumps out.

That is an excellent idea - you can probably just tie knots in it every 5 or so feet too I would imagine.
