    Meet Gracie! Mastiff

Gracie is one of foster's she is absolutely a BIG Baby! I first met Gracie while working with the Humane Society. We recieved a call of a

"Boxer" that could barely walk. A woman and her dogs were out walking on their property and came upon Gracie lying in a ditch along a stream.

We went at 10:30pm that night and the woman had gotten Gracie up and into a outside kennel. She was VERY SKINNY and very Scared

of our presence and it was dark. Seeing the time of night it was Gracie remained at this womans home for th evening as she was in no

immediate danger and we returned the following day. She was painfully thin but still showed the most sweet personality. She wanted

nothing but love and some food. We were at first usure what we would do to handle this situation as the shlter was full and we had didn't

know where we would house her to get her better. We somehow managed to make room and brought Gracie to the shelter to work towards

getting her the help she needed. Gracie was found to weigh only 59lbs was very anemic and also heart worm positive. The vets were not

sure if she was so ill that she would recover...We could NOT or would not give in that easy with this sweet girl. I had really grown

attached in this short time already...I went to the shelter everynight and sat with Gracie and fed her more in the evenings.

Let me try to shorten this...sorry....but Gracie needed more individual attention that she could get in a shleter environment, so I contacted

our director with (BRBR) Blue Ridge Boxer Rescue and asked if we could take Gracie home and bring her into the BRBR family. When the

director said "Garrett you bring that baby home" my heart felt so good because I knew for certain Gracie was now most definately on her

way to the best life possible! Gracie is still being fostered by us through BRBR and is doing AMAZINGLY WELL! She is currently being

treated for her Heart worms but is doing Great! I LOVE This special lady! Sorry for this being so long but with as many rescue dogs I

have had the pleasure of helping Gracie is truley one of the most special!

Some pics from first day until now.... Gracie now weighs in a 90.5lbs......Gracie

Thanks Bonita! As of right now I want to continue fostering Gracie through BRBR and look for her forever home so that I may be involved in the decision. If she has to go to a new family.

I thought the same thing, I.michelle. That dog has love in her eyes now, where they were so empty and longing before. What an unbelievable difference...actually made me a little teary-eyed!! She is one lucky, lucky girl. Thank you for everything you did for her. You're an angel.

Thanks! I think she is Beautiful as well..... I could not have helped her as much as I have been able to without the help of the Humane Society and the Boxer Rescue both have done a Great deal in ensuring Gracie receives the best care available!
