It has now been one week in which Shimmer has been left out free in the bedroom with Gaci while I was at work. At one year and five months of age, she has graduated from her wire kennel to a bed and freedom! It's a great feeling to know she has finally matured and come out of her puppy stage of chewing. She's a bit of a late bloomer, but she's finally taken that leap! Way to go Shim, you're a big girl now! And now you can snuggle, and play, and groom your best bud Gaci!
On another note, after having helped line judge my first flyball tournament last weekend, I am going to get involved with the club and eventually try the girls out in flyball. I'm so excited. It's great in so many ways: to get involved with some great dog people, to gain experience in a new sport, to help the girls work on their fear/confidence issues, and get them involved in a new sport. I've already been invited back to judge again in July at the next tournament, and I'm so stoked. Being surrounded by such high-drive, focused, fast, toned athletes is simply amazing. Breathtaking. I'm so excited, and I think the girls will love it.
