    Mindless Chatter Wed/Thurs

Just checking in from the border of Iowa and IL! The weather is very nice here. The town we are in must have at least 50 bars/pubs in a 3 block area. It's insane. Also, most of the bars don't open until 9pm and close at 3-4am. Craziness. And of course there is a casino to blow your money in once you are drunk.  I lost a little bit last night. I hate casinos!

My sister apparently left an entire NB food roll (a big one!) on the counter while she took a shower. Guess who ate the whole thing? Dakota, of course! Now she is sick. Hopefully it won't be a life threatening thing and she didn't eat the plastic and stuff with it. My sister thinks that she did. Not much I can do about that so far from home.

Anyway, I'll try to get back to the hotel computer as I can. I sure wish this site was available on my blackberry! (bad bad web designers)

OH NO!  Dakota!  What were you thinking?  I hope she feels better soon.

I've been trying to rearrange my bedroom to accomodate 2 more dressers.  They are my dressers that my sister graciously offered to "store" for me.  And by Store, I mean she has had them in her room at her house filled with her clothes for the past 4 years, when I only need her to keep them for a month.  Sigh...I'm hoping they are still in good shape.  They should be.

I think I might be getting a UTI.  I've just got that feeling, not fun.  I have to go up to the hospital lab for my glucose test, I wonder if they will run a urine test for a UTI for me while I'm there?  Hmmm...I do have a huge jug of cranberry juice in the fridge for now, I suppose that wouldn't hurt.  I've been drinking extra water, but I forgot all about the juice.  Anyone have any other tips for avoiding this?

Hmmm, Coke stole NB food roll today too!

What the heck....is it something in the water??  I too have a UTI.  Took my Mom down to the cemetary yesterday to clean the markers and get the urns on the graves.  I was fine all day long, drank four or five quarts of water in addition to the coffee I start my day with and iced tea at lunch.  No abnormal urges, stopped twice to potty on the way back....fairly normal day.  However, when I got her back I needed to go, but since she was already late for dinner, I didn't go in....figured I'd hit DD for a bathroom.  Barely made it in there, and then had to stop less than half hour later to go again.  By the time I got home about fifteen minutes later, had to go yet again, and it escalated alllllll evening.  The burning, the horrible clenching/contraction feeling deep inside, the blood.  I could NOT go five minutes without having to get back up and go to the bathroom.  Started meds and cranberry capsules right away and luckily this morning its down to a low roar and far more normal potty breaks.  No blood, very little burning, no more clenching.......

Thunder and Thor BOTH this morning had explosive soft stool.....Thunder in the crate, Thor in the bedroom, on the carpet.  OK, our fault we didn't get them out quick enough maybe......this evening it happened AGAIN.  When I plugged in the carpet cleaner I realized that ALLLLL my outlets were dead for some reason.  We tried everything we could think of, but the stench of poop was overwhelming and I had a large puddle on my carpet that needed cleaning, so grabbed a heavy duty extension cord and plugged it into our power tree outside and used that to have power.  Eventually we did figure out how to get the outlets working again, the RV no longer smells like something died in it and peace is restored......

So, the high today was something like forty.....poured all day, I felt like crap overall, despite the lack of unholy pain when peeing, was freezing all day long, AND the economic incentive check that was supposed to have been mailed LAST Friday at the latest, now won't be mailed until NEXT  and my lot rent was due yesterday......

Oh, and today is our Silver wedding aniversary.......yehaw

Happy Anniversay, Glenda!!  Wilted Flower I haven't gotten my check either, but I did get a letter from the IRS telling me I should have it by the 23rd ... and a phone number to call in case I still don't have it six weeks from now. *sigh*

I went for an interview today. I don't think I did very well, but I never think I did very well, except it was with a panel, and I know I really bomb at panel interviews. That's part of why I chose the grad program I did, but that's a different story. Anyway, I wrote a thank you note to one of the interviewers, the one who called me to schedule. I forget the name of the other person. I have a fair guess, based on the other names listed on the website, but I could be totally wrong. I want to also send her a note, as I know it's the good thing to do, but I am not sure. Should I pick the name I believe is the correct one, based on the title listed, and use that one? Is there another method I should go with? I don't want to not send her one. I know they're hiring multiple people, so maybe if someone else didn't send to one or both of them, it'll help me that I sent to both of them.

Happy Anniversary Glenda!! Dakota, you're a wild woman. Don't be so naughty! UTI's suck. I *think* cranberry juice, unless it's ALL cranberry without any extra sugar, contributes to UTI's, so I usually stick to straight water. I haven't gotten my economic stimulus check either. I have PLANS for that money.

BF and I went crazy and ordered PIZZA for dinner last night, and now I have pizza leftovers for lunch. Yum. It's only 10:45 so not quite lunchtime but I'm huuuungry already.

I just snuck out of my meeting to check email and such. My butt is hurting from so much sitting. I also woke up last night with a crazy painful charlie horse in my calf. OMG. That is one awful way to be woke up. It still hurts. I have not had a charlie horse in forever. Do bananas help prevent those?

The weather here is still gorgeous. Man, I wish we'd get this weather at home!

This town I'm in is pretty great. They even close the main street down at 10pm so that people can mill around all of the bars. It's like a northern New Orleans. I went walking through some art galleries last night too. Very cool stuff. Too bad I'm not rich!

I had the most random dream last night!  I have to tell it here b/c Dakota was in my dream!  I don't remember how it started, but I was on a family vacation and had to take the TDI test, except for some reason I was taking Dakota.  In my dream, the test was at MSU in this big athletic building.  Apparently, there was also a championship basketball game going on at the same time.  All the dogs trying to get through the crowd and into the building for the test were getting all revved up.  I went in with Dakota and signed in but we had to wait.  My family had come along to watch, so we went out in the crowd to watch the basketball game.  Then I woke up.  So weird!

It's even windier today than it was yesterday Sad and there's a huge fire burning in the Santa Cruz mountains - 1,000 acres gone in three hours. When I went out to scoop poop in the yard about 8:30 a.m. I checked the clock/thermometer on the fence and it registered 52 degrees - same thing Weather Bug said.  That's a whole 50 degrees cooler than it was over the weekend.  How crazy is that?

OMG, I just found out Kenya's breeder is wanting to breed my favorite bitch of hers to the half brother of one of my favorite dogs of ALL time (and their sire is amazing!!).  I want, sooooooo bad!  They are exactly what I want, both in size, looks, structure, temperament.... She explained to me her summer breeding plan and its like word for word what I would have typed if someone asked me what exactly I was looking for in my next dog.  Please tell me all your puppy horror stories!

We had the opposite thing happen here in January.  Usually is well below zero but for two days it was 65 degrees!  I walked my dogs after dark, in the pouring rain, in a t-shirt and I was still hot!  Then of course we had record cloudy days and snow fall through April.

Last night in my dream, there was a unicorn. It was frightening.

Max and Georgie are now booked in the Kennel for the first week of August, and my sister and I are going to camp. I am really nervous about camp. It is somewhere in New York, away from civilization though. I am doing though, because one of the kids cannot go if I don't go as her aide. I only have to stay with her from 9-3, but then again, if I don't drive myself, I have to stay there all day. So, I think I may want to drive it myself, put loads of miles on the jeep, and get horrible gas mileage in the process. Yup, that sounds like a great plan. Actually, I hope my sister gets a car with better gas mileage till then,

Thanks for the anniversary wishes.  The good thing is, that as crappy as the entire day was, one or the other of us would laugh and say, "gosh, happy anniversary hon" and then we'd both laugh.

I'm sitting here looking out the window at a huge RV with the whole back end painted with Bible verses and a huge image of Christ on the Cross.  I don't know why this bugs me, other than that I'm not comfortable with in my face religious types, and I'm hoping that they are ONLY emptying their tanks and filling the fresh water one.  Oh man.....awfully glad that I don't have need to use the fresh water hose to fill my tank.....yuck, he just now removed his drain hose and stuck the fresh water hose right into that nasty thing.  Man oh man...there IS a hose for not drinking water.  That's really nasty.  Now I really hope he's not staying.

Today feels a smidgen warmer, but that could be because it's not raining.  Still gloomy as heck out there, but this weekend is supposed to get up in the seventies, which will be a delightful change.  Of course, the only problem with the constant changes in weather is that it's darned hard to get dressed in the morning, and I end up changing several times a day.

Happy Anniversary, Glenda. A quarter of a century, gone just like that. But the next quarter of a century should be just as much fun.
