Kenya demonstrates how NOT to weave by popping out.  I made her new weave poles on Saturday.

Coke demonstrates his "roll".  Here you can see HE initiates the roll (he usually bites at Kenya's neck until she play bows back, then he runs so she will chase and rolls just as she pounces).

It rained all day, but the sun came out around 8pm so I ran out with the camera.  I JUST figured out my camera has a special AF setting specifically for macros.  DOH!  I love water drops.  Standing up they all look the same, but when I bend down I want to photograph them ALL.  I'm sure I looked quite ridiculous hopping around in the grass.

Coke cleaning the spilled BBQ sauce off the grill (don't mind the fish tank and accessories, it leaked last night so I just shoved it out the door).

Awesome pics!  Marijke is adorable.  You captured some great attitude with Coke's pic!

I LOVE tulips and your pictures are wonderful.  The first one that's red and white looks like one of those fancy carved turnips.

All the rain pictures are amazing!!  And the "oh snap" made me LOL.

I know a certain little red-headed boy who likes to clean up bbq grills too and they're not even our grills.  I say that's a hazzard of living in apartment complexes (all the food/trash that's accessible), he would say it's a benefit.

I want these tulips!! Do you know what their called? I love tulips. Their my favorite flowers.

BTW I am so totally jealous of your photography skills. I wish I had the money to give you to come take pictures of everyone here.

You are such a great photographer. I love seeing your pictures.

Awesome!  I love the pics...what kind of camera do you have?

    • Gold Top Dog

Thanks.  I usually use a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ-50 but sometimes also use a Canon PowerShot A460 (small, cheap, but Canon puts good stuff even in the little guys).

Same question here, what kind of camera.   I love the dog, flowers, raindrops are awesome.  You are my kind of picture taker!!!!  Hubby and I got a camera a few years ago supposed to be the best thing ever, huh, 2 years later I still cant figure out how to work the stupid thing.   Mom and daughter just bought simple easy digitals that take great pics.

    • Gold Top Dog

I think that is what Mom has, a Canon Powershot.  I must have one!!!!!!

The A460 was only $99.  With digicams, you pay more for features and gimmicks.  The lenses and parts in the lower models are still really good quality, there's just not as many options.  I was reading a review on the A460 by a pro photog and he said this camera is better quality than a $3000 Nikon he bought not so long ago.  I got the A460 as a "macro" cam.  My Lumix takes macros (as evident by this thread), but the A460 can get in a lot closer and still auto-focus well.  I figured a $99 camera was probably cheaper than the right lens/adapter for macros on the Lumix, and that way DH has his "own" camera.

Previously I used a PowerShot S1.  Now they are on S5 and that is a GREAT camera.  I would have gotten that and I think I would have been satisfied if I'd chosen that over the Lumix.  Now I'm getting comfortable with the Lumix.  I'm glad I didn't spend twice as much for a DSLR.  Not worth it.  My boss is a semi-pro photographer (has been into photography for over 30 years) and uses a Lumix FZ one model earlier than mine as his "good" camera.  It shoots raw and has a true manual focus (twist lens barrel for zoom and focus).  You can buy all the bells and whistles for it, I just haven't chosen yet.  I know I want some kind of fisheye lens, an external flash, and a remote shutter release.

I love your dogs - and kitty!  And those are great flower and raindrop pics!

Thanks for the tips.  My hubby loves to take pics of the dogs and my flowers and all the beautiful things in our area of the country.  This camera we got is just so difficult to operate.   I dont want to have to change setting with each picture.  If I want to take a pic of the dog doing something I want to shoot it several times to get different shots.  Besides with all the other technical things I have to remember at work, I dont want to have to think or remember how to work a camera...lol
