How Do You Manage Pet Hair?

I vacuum twice a week and sweep the hard floors (tile, wood, bamboo) more than that I suppose. Bugsy's hairs are short and seem to really embed in the carpet, but the vacuum does the job.   It's one of those things that when we first got him I was paranoid about and now it's like - hey I have a dog he has hair so what?  He doesn't really shed much and he is not allowed on furniture or beds so it is only the floors.

I was beginning to feel like I was the worst housekeeper in the world, thanks for making me not feel so lonely!   Shadow's short hair would gather under table legs, baseboards, vents etc.   So far Rocky's has just been his puppy fur we will see how bad it is when his real hair grows in, lol.  But needless to say I probably wont do more than I do already which is when I cant stand it anymore or.....company is comingEmbarrassed

After working all week, I want to play in my flowers and spend time with my hubby and puppy!   I use a lightweight Oreck for quick fixes on wood, ceramic tile and throw rugs.  I prolly dont mop but once a month Embarrassed or when Rocky and I bring in too much dirt and mud from playing outside.   I figure, we are comfortable in our home....life is too short to spend all my time cleaning.

The kids said I used to be anal about cleaning........lol not anymore!!!!!

Every couple of days, I put down a coating of glue and trap all the hair. I now have a nice, soft carpet ;)

What works best to clean up the pet hair (hard floors) in your home every day? Smile

I don't clean up pet hair everyday! Yay for non-shedders! The only time I pick clean up pet hair is when they are clipped every 6-8 weeks. *G*

Now, cleaning up the trees they bring in on their furnishings? Another matter entirely *G*

This is the only time I see hair:

Gaci is on the left, Shimmer is on the right.

It's pretty obvious that I don't manage it very well at all. Sad The Dyson does a great job on the carpet, but I don't do it every day.  The wood floors are another story.  Max has weird hair - it doesn't fall into separate hairs, but instead it forms clouds of hair that jump ahead of the broom or the dry swiffer.  The absolute worst place to deal with it is under the dining room table where it looks like the table and chair legs are all growing strange tufts of hair.

Yes, thank goodness for my Dyson. Poor thing gets quite a workout. I vacuumed the entire house on Saturday (I use the attachments to do the tile floors) and by Sunday evening I could see hair everywhere again. It's definitely the worst time of year for us :(

Our pets have hair that sort of wafts through the house like tumbleweeds when we let it get out of control (embarassingly often) and I'm quite familiar with it "jumping ahead" of the broom or swiffer.  That's why I like this sticky tape lint roller on a stick thing - the tumbleweeds get picked right up.  And on the microfiber couch, it is awesome.
