Some of you may remember from dogs shows last year---I worked with Waltham
Collecting blood samples at shows last year to create DNA to support canine
genetic research. Now I am looking for dogs that I have having a tough time
finding, but I know they are out there. I am trying to speak to people with
dogs who are the result of a breeding between 2 AKC registered parents of
different breeds or have at least one AKC parent. These types of dogs can
take canine genetic research one step further. The breeds that we need to
represent in these crosses are American Cocker Spaniels, Beagles, Bichon
Frises, Boxers, Chihuahuas, Chow Chows, Dachshunds, German Shepherd Dogs,
Golden Retrievers, Lhasa Apsos, Maltese, Miniature Pinschers, Miniature
Schnauzers, Parson Russell/Jack Russell Terriers, Pekingese, Pomeranians,
Pugs, Shih Tzu, Rottweilers, and Yorkshire Terriers. If any of you know
dogs whose owners might be interested please have them contact me directly.
If any of you would like to see information and a study that these samples
have supported:
