    Mindless Chatter - Tues

"On the road again....." that's my theme song this week. Hopefully the boss is going to get me a blackberry soon so I can actually get some work done.

This is hard to say because I'm annoyed with Dakota atm but every so often she reminds me why I love her - and huskies in general. I took her on her own walk last night. I miss that! She is a no nonsense trail dog. It's awesome when you just want to get out there and hike. She has one purpose when we go hiking on our own and that's following the trail. She's a dream out in public too. People think she's the best trained dog ever (I laugh). Of course everyone wants to pet her and love on her but she's super aloof. She doesn't care about you unless you have food.

I worked on Neiko's frisbee last night too. He's really coming along now! It's awesome how much focus he has and he doesn't drop the frisbee anymore until I tell him to or until he gets near me. I think changing to directional feeding instead of out and back was the key. His only real problem is that because he's a herding dog he does what I call a victory lap every time he catches a frisbee. He'll catch one then do this wiiiiiiiiddddddeeeeeee circle back to me like he's waiting for applause - until he sees the next frisbee about to be thrown then he is all business again. Anyway, I finally got a back vault out of him last night. I'm so excited about that. We have a competition 2 weeks from now so I need to perfect that and get a routine together. Even if it's a newbie routine at least we'll get some exposure to competitions.

All I've wanted the last couple days has been BOXES so that I can start packing. But I don't want to *buy* boxes because 1. There are perfectly good boxes in the world already and 2. I'd have to pay for new boxes. So I've been hitting my Target with no luck, at all. The customer service people must have forgotten their friendly pills or something. So I drove by CVS this morning and I saw it - a dumpster full of big, empty, flattened boxes!! Now, I am not one to dumpster dive, but this had ONLY boxes and no trash. Yessssss. I filled my car up and I'm going to go get some more once these are full. I'm so psyched!! The dumpster said 'NO TRESPASSING' so I hope the dumpster police don't catch me.

haha awesome!!!!!!  Nice find!  You might also try a grocery store

Today is a BUSY day at work for me, the other assistant is sick, luckily the lawyer is out of the office in court this morning, but that doesn't stop her from calling me on the way there to give me MORE work to do lol

I have a ton of boxes from all the wedding presents that are starting to trickle in already!  So many I don't know what to do with them all!

    So far I have:

    - 1 sheet set

    - 1 set of silicon bakeware

    - 1 spiffy ice cream scoop

    - all the dishes I asked for

    - the kettle I need/want

    - a nice sum on a Target gift card

Plus all the stuff I got at my shower!!!  Getting married rocks!

Anyway it's back to work for me - loong day ahead. :P

I was supposed to have a training today, but I showed up, and the person giving the training had called out sick. She forgot that she had scheduled the training, so me and some other girl were both there for it. She's supposed to reschedule it when she comes in, but this is getting really annoying. This will be reschedule number 4. If we get to reschedule number 5, I'm done.

I always get my boxes from the Liquor Store.  Everyone I know that moves does...hmmm.

What to do today?  I think I'll try and get a bit more painting done on my cupboards and maybe even mount the four doors I have finished...oh, maybe not, i have to get buffer dots for them.  Sigh...

I'm going to get liquor store boxes for my dishes. I need bigger ones for other stuff. I seem to have hit a packing plateau, though. I-dog called me away. Maybe I'll eat lunch and get back at it. I didn't realize how much TRASH I have. I've thrown a bunch out.

I didn't realize how many holes BF put in the walls. He hates bare walls so he's hung lots of artwork (some of it is his) and now there are nail holes all over. I hope he has fun spackling and painting the walls. LOL.

UGH UGH UGH. I got a D in my Music Literature class. This sucks, big time. Not only will it screw up my GPA, I get to retake a completely stupid and ridiculous pre-rec and I already sold the book. WHY WHY WHY WHY.

Oh, I refuse to buy boxes too. There's no need for new boxes in the world, I agree! I always save up boxes and store them in my basement for holidays, moving, shipping, whatever. Plus I raid the paper boxes at work if I really need them.

When BF went on his selling spree on Ebay, i hoarded all the boxes that came into the office for our office supplies and put them all in my closet here in my office lol.  It was great!

I work in IT, so I have an endless supply of boxes!  My personal faves are the ones Dell uses to ship the GX745s.  They are the perfect size - you can cram them full but still carry them - and they have handles.  If you are still near your school, call your HelpDesk and ask if they have any computer boxes.  We get tons this time of year b/c all our new computers come in for summer upgrades.

Ooo, ooo, computer boxes! I got a beautiful one from work this morning, I'm saving it for my kitchen things. Good idea thought!

Bugsy thinks he's in heaven.  DH just came home and asked if he wanted to go for a walk - really two in one day really dad, really????

It is unseasonably cool (yea!) and super sunny - just a perfect afternoon/evening for a walk.

Liesje what does it mean to work in IT? Just curious lol, I know nothing about the world outside the walls of the hospital. No cases today on the liver service, I spent half the day on the couch in the resident room watching my buddy kill monsters on the computer. What a glam life I lead lol.

Computer boxes are great, especially the Dell ones. Egg boxes (crates) are great too. The only problem with getting boxes from a grocery store at least in our area, is they don't have space for them so they break them down and cut them up for recycling as soon as they open them. You may want to try to call a grocery store first.

I had a training all morning it was actually nice. I think because I was out of the office.

My toe is feeling better but I asked a friend to ride my horse for me tomorrow. When I have my foot in my stirrup the little toe rests on the outside branch of my iron, that might be painful. Also as DH pointed out to me, "you don't want Pete to step on it". Murphy's law would increase that chance, I think I will wait for Friday to ride.
