    rwbeagles-Lily's Birthday

She turned 7 on Sunday...some pics. I am WIPED OUT...kid parties always do this to me. This was only family but still...we went bowling and the arcade and blah....she had fun...and Elias only threw one fit so I guess it worked out alright!

    Birthday dress...isn't it pretty?

    Party after bowling...

Cleo looked cute in her hat...

Gina she is so beautiful!!!!  The cupcake frosting matched her dress which was gorgeous too!  And you can't forget Cleo what a sweetie!

Yeah I noticed that about the frosting too...lol. Maybe that's why she picked it. It gave her lovely BLUE lips for the rest of her pics LOL. Her dress reminded me of those china plates...Delft or something?

Happy birthday Lily!  I'm dreading having to do "real" kids parties... I mean it doesnt matter when they are only one and at worst none of the kids know or care whats going on and won't remember it.  How do you do it???? What's the secret, Supermum???!!

don't do it! LOL. No seriously I only allow at most 3-4 friends to be invited...this time I did the same but being that she was on a Sunday and we live in the bible belt...none were able to come. She was bummed BUT more excited about bowling and her presents than worried about who was going to be there.

Birthday party culture seems dependant on your area and your school and how tight knit people are there. At her private montessori it seemed there was a 'do every weekend and EVERYONE got invited (I mean these people were nuts, one snooty family rented out an ENTIRE WATER PARK for Lily's class of 10 kids!). In her current school boys invite boys....girls girls and only certain people sometimes from different classes, get invited.

I have decided that birthdays are FAMILY days...and outside parties will be minimally involved as long as they need my supervision and direction. I'd rather drop some cash and take her and my son to an amusement park where we ALL can have fun...even if it's more $$....than spend 2 hours in my home or ChuckyCheeses with other people's kids.

    LOL.

I love her dress!  It goes beautifully with her skin!  Is she really as innocent as she looks?

I love throwing birthday parties for my kids.  Kale's last one was at a hotel pool.  We had a conference room and he ended up inviting the entire class cause he couldn't decide who to invite and who not to and by the time he was done there were like 3 kids not invited.  That didn't seem fair to me so we just invited them all.  I'd hate to be one of the 3 kids in a class of 20 not invited to a party.  It was short notice though so only 9 of them showed up.   I also collect prizes all year for the party favours.  They never cost more than a dollar apiece and the kids leave with some great things.  Well, they think they are anyway.  Its easier than loot bags.  I try to overplan the timeframe.  This year worked out pretty well.  There was only about 15 minutes of downtime in which the kids ran around being noisy and throwing the pool darts at one another.  The rest of the party ran pretty smoothly.
