    Crombie Update...

A friend of ours said they saw two eagles take off with a kitten matching Crombie's description... So I'm not expecting him to come home...It hurts thinking that it could be true but I'm still holding out a bit that he will come home. I feel so STUPID for not fighting harder to get him neutered...BF kept treating Crombie like his last kitten so he expected Crombie to stay close to home..He's taking it better then I am (which is weird). He says he had a dream that Crombie was cuddling a little black kitten with green eyes so BF feels he's fine.. Me.. I'm not so sure...

Crombie was annoying, whiny, and a cuddle fiend.. But I miss the little guy... *sniffle*

     Aww...Thats so sad.  I'm sorry.

I'm so sorry.  I was sending "go home" vibes like crazy.

At least you know what happened and that Crombie didn't suffer.  Not much consolation I know, but it is something.

It's closure and that's mostly what I wanted in the end.. But lesson learned for BF and next time we get a kitten he will be neutered by 5 months..without me having to fight.

    Geez, I'm so sorry...

I do have a question, and I'm not asking to be rude or anything its just that I don't know a thing about cats and I'm curious, what does him being neutered have to do with him taking off?

Im so sorry, that is terribly sad.

what does him being neutered have to do with him taking off?

There is a reason that the word "tomcat" is used as a verb.  Crombie reached sexual maturity and is thought to have gone looking for mates.

DEFN:  "to pursue women in order to make sexual conquests (often fol. by around): He tomcatted around before settling down."

Exactly.. It's the same idea as neutering a male dog. If Crombie had been neutered sooner, I would have never gone through this..

I'm very sorry about Crombie and not saying this to be mean, but we had a male cat who was neutered at a young age and he wandered the entire neighborhood. Right before his 2nd birthday he was killed by a raccoon. My answer to this was I only have indoor cats. Much safer for them and so much less stress for me.
