Mindless Chatter - Friday

    Mindless Chatter - Friday

I took 2 tylonal PM's last night at midnight. Not a great idea, but I couldn't sleep and my back was hurting. I'm paying the price now though. I can't wake up!

Last night was busy as usual. Took the dogs to the dog park which was crazy busy. Waaaay too many people. More people than dogs. The kids that were there were doing cartweels and wrestling on the ground. As a result, they got a face full of Lily. I didn't even bother to call her off because the kids and the parents need to learn that the dog park isn't a playground. Needless to say, the parents got their kids in line pretty quickly. Lily can be pretty scary sometimes :)  Regardless, I'm not going to go to the dog park during peak hours anymore. Just way too many people. It's chaos. That should tell the city that we need a couple more parks around the area!

I had an obed. class with Lily last night too. She did pretty well. We practiced walking the dogs in a heel outside while people jogged by close. Lily looked and was startled but she didn't bark or lunge so that was good.

No real plans for the weekend thankfully. I'm going to take this time to clean out the garage and my car! That's the plan anyway.

LOL.  That reminds me of the first little bit of jogging I did with the dogs.  I don't typically run.  It jars the shoulders and makes them unhappy and I'm not in that great of condition.....I can do a LOT of things, but running isn't one of them that I enjoy.  So, we'd shortened the night time walks to a good potty break with a little once around since the dogs get antsy after dark.  I was feeling guilty about that so did a little bit of a run with them.  Sheba just took it in stride, as did Thor.  Tyler looked around at me running and took off like a stranger was chasing him, Theo stuck right at my side, matching me step for step....but Theo doesn't like to get too far from me in any case.....Shadow took advantage of it, but kept looking at me like I'd completely lost my mind, and Thunder wanted to race.  Sheba now begs for her nightly jog.....last night DH came back all winded because she "insisted" that he run with her.

Sheba's pretty hard to say no to.....she trots ahead to the end of her line, then comes bouncing back looking for all the world like Tigger from Winnie the Pooh.  And she's so glorious when she runs that it's really, REALLY hard to say no.

I'm praying overtime today about the job we want so badly.

Shadow again needed to go out in the night...3:30 this time, and again had the squirts.  I'm thinking since I don't use it often, it was the pork in the homecooked that is causing the problem.  They had pumpkin last night with dinner, but apparently he didn't get enough to help.  Poor guy.  And of course, it was POURING rain.  Still is too.

I'm on needles and pins today....waiting for the call, so probably not terribly coherent this morning......

I was going to drop Kenya off at the boarding kennel this afternoon on the way out, but now we are giving three people a ride so I took her in this morning.  That place is spotless!  Her "room" is almost as big as MY bedroom, and she gets a flat panel TV.  She was a little concerned by the two Dachshund's right across from her barking and growling at her.  I got a tour of the place and as I was leaving Kenya saw me and whined so I quick left.  They are going to temperament test her and put her in a "play group".  Since she is in boarding, she gets 5 play times a day with the day care dogs.

I feel bad for Coke.  Not only does he get depressed when Kenya is gone, but I know he would LOVE being in play groups and going to this place.

I have a gazillion things to do at home and exactly three things to do at work, and of course I'm stuck at work...

    Fingers crossed Glenda!

I have been busy this week, and I have been crabby that is why I have not been posting...much.

Teddi had her first Focus with Control agility class last night. I was very happy how much she retained She was unsure about jumping though, I think it was kind of funny. For the past 6 months we have been saying "TEDDI NO!" and now I point and say "jump". She looked at me like "huh?" Once she jumped the first jump (8";) she flew over the rest! We also let her swim and dock jump before class. She was one happy tired pup last night. The good news is I didn't see any "soreness/limping" last night but I have to admit we all just sort of collapsed when we got home.

Maxine has a swollen eye! (always something) It is not actually her eye, but directly below it. I noticed it last night. Her eye was very red, I think she had been rubbing it. This AM it was not as red but still swollen. I am on the fence about calling the vet. I think hot/cold compresses and perhaps an anti-inflammatory. I am just not sure. It is Max though, I would hate for it to be "something". But it could be a bite or sting from an insect too. Decisions, decisions.

Not sure about my weekend plans yet. We do have a fun match on Sunday. Our trainer is going to build the AKC National championship course. That should be a lot of fun to run. I need to get a shower gift for my nephew's fiance, the shower is next Sunday. It is supposed to be kind of rainy all weekend, we need it it has not rained in about 2+ weeks. Monday and Tuesday is supposed to be cold (under 50) Sad I guess that is to be expected.

    *crossing fingers for Glenda*

It's my last week at work next week and they stiff me on hours :/ Oh well. I think I was starting to burn out of that job and it'll be better that I'm taking a break anyway.

Pirate has an eye injury too! They were playing with the ball at daycare and it clocked him right in the eye. He's fine today :) but I LOL'ed at Max's injury. Did she take a ball to the eye?

I need to go to the store and ask for boxes. The moving train is leaving without me. I have 2 kitchen boxes packed and that's it. Maybe I'll start on the winter clothes.

No, no ball to my knowledge. She and Belle were home alone. Now if she had been home with Teddi, ANYTHING could have happened LOL. You know I did not "notice" if she had it before we left last night. She was roughing around with Teddi as we were preparing to leave. I wonder if she caught a tooth? No broken skin, but that is flesh and bone area I bet that could hurt and blow up.

I am leaning towards a bite, insect. She is just my world, I have this "guilty" feeling I am NOT rushing her in. I have been fussing so over the Teddster I don't want her to think I don't care. Of course I am keeping watch and if it changes AT ALL we are off!

People keep asking me what happened to Coke, so I changed my sig.  Like the time I re-created my Facebook account, and before I could adust my profile my friend was calling around asking why Phil and I broke up b/c Facebook no longer said we were "engaged", lol.

People assume the worst when stuff changes. I figured you didnt have Coke on your siggy because Kenya is your dog and Coke is your husband's dog.

I'm gonna TRY to make Tico a cage for outside use. I got a roll of chicken wire and now trying to find someone to cut up my boards. This should be fun building this with a finger I tried to cut off in the car door. Hope the hammer likes me better.

No more eye ball injuries, idoggies!

***good luck Glenda**** - I'm guessing you have to sit and wait until Monday to hear if anything comes from the job.

I am currently working in a super highend office and learned the rug, that one woman spilled birthday cake on this morning, cost $14,000.  I can only shake my head.... and wistfully dream of spending that kind of money on a rug.  I just realized, that's more than my car is worth. HAHAH!  (Granted my car is 10yrs old now, but still)

Lordy.  If I had that kind of money to spend on a rug I wouldn't do it.  I'll bet a $14,000 rug that's covered in dog hair doesn't look a dang bit different than a $100 rug that's covered in dog hair. Big Smile
