    Mindless Chatter - Thurs

No real time to post, I have a dog and pony show to put on all day at work. So, I'm just starting the thread.

    Have a good day all!

Why does a piece of what looks like scrap metal have to cost $200?!?!?!  I need a weave base....

Hmmmm, I might enjoy seeing a dog and pony show.........

The dogs got me up well before six.  Shadow needed to go, really, really bad, so I've been up and grumping for a few hours now.  However, considering the size puddle a gsd can leave, and the size PILE one can make, I'm glad he woke me up.  It's just very unlike my guys to want to get up that early.  Everyone else is still sleeping, and of course Shadow did his thing and went right back to bed too.  But, once I'm up, I'm up.  Sigh.

Looks like the price of gas is going to put a damper on lots of stuff this year.  This weekend is Trout Festival here, and there are normally, from what I'm told, people begging for camp sites.  This year there only have TWO reservations.  And both campers are already here.  Gas is inching up towards four bucks a gallon here, so I'm not terribly surprised folks don't want to spend that kind of money to travel.  Meals and a hotel are much cheaper at that cost.

I'm so hungry!! Plenty of food in the house but I want chinese. Too bad it's 9 in the morning.

Samantha's watching Bindi the jungle girl. She loves this show. Hmm wonder why?!

Lillie has discovered the kittens but Autumn gave her a good slap so Lillie's feeling a little sad at the moment.

    Already a beautiful day out.

Glenda, been thinking of you this morning!  Good luck on the J-O-B situation.  Of course that led me to start naming off your dogs in my head and I'm shocked at myself for only getting 4 of them...help me out?  Sheba, Shadow, Tyler, Thor and .....

Its raining here, hard.  Kale had to run to my mom's before school today cause she had one of those Smart Lunches for him.  Poor kid, but he was in high spirits.  He got to take his Hulk Umbrella, his boots and his raincoat.

I'm hopefully going to meet my friends little boy today.  His name is Liam and his mommy asked if I could come over to help her out for a bit so his Daddy can go do some grocery shopping.  Les is still recovering from her c-section and has a hard time bending to pick him up, so I'm going over!  Yay!

well we had a decent class last night - we were there first and had a good talk with the instructor - I felt much relief when he stated that Bugs, bless him, was a really challenging dog.  He said the combination of smarts, independence, size, intense drives and energy ask a tremendous amount of the handler.  He said it was obvious he gets bored and then chooses to do something rather than nothing.  Also said he was the first true alpha he had worked with in ages. He mentioned that many people would not have kept him.  Not the first time I've heard that.  Lucky for Bugsy then he chose me - lucky for me too!

After class he and the Bernese went into the yard and played.  It was great to see Bugsy have a similar size dog to play with although that Bernese was no match for my silly boy's speed.  He would just stop and watch B run like a lunatic. Big Smile

Its a beautiful day here and we had a nice walk this morning.  I am playing in a golf tournament this afternoon YEA!

    That's it must work

Dog and Pony show?! I always want to go on the pony rides at our HS's big fundraiser event but BF never takes me because he's a jerk. Hmf.

Pirate and I were accosted by the known-dog-aggressive dog in our neighborhood. I think I scared him off when I yelled HEY GO AWAY at the top of my lungs. I'm glad Pirate didn't get hurt. WHY his people let him in the front yard, unleashed, I can't figure out. We were at least a block away. *sigh* I can't WAIT to move.

Do I want to go to Chic-Fil-A or go get a sub? I kind of want to go to Olive Garden but everyone is busy. Chic-Fil-A seems to be winning but I have to go to the grocery store and they have goooood subs.

Willow is driving me crazy--she's not eating well at all.  It's been really warm here and she hasn't been able to do her long hikes-not sure if that has anything to do with her appetite.  She's worrying me though.  I even gave her some anti-nausea medicine two nights ago thinking maybe that was the issue.  And, I gave her a Pepcid last night, but no improvement.

I've decided what I'm doing for my dad for Father's Day.  There is going to be a big Prostate Cancer walk, it's a 5K in the morning on Father's Day.  It's on Boston Common.  So, my husband, brother and sister in law are going to walk it in his honor.  He went thru surgery earlier this year.  He has everything and plenty of money so I thought this would be nice.

Anyway, off to get ready for another looong day at work. I'm in charge all week and boy is it draining.  I would never want my managers job full time.  It's too much.

    Have a nice day.

My work day thus far has been quite nice lol.  One of our clients works at the Jones New York and Nine West warehouse nearish here, and they had their family and friends HUUUUGE sale on at the warehouse, so the law clerk, other assistant and myself went for 3 hours this morning!!!!  I got so many things at such great prices!  Including a dress regularly 315$for 15$!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  It was gooooood

:D  Anyone in Torontoish area who wants to know where this sale thing is, it is on until I think May 4, let me know and I will tell you where to go!!

Heck if I had the money to spend I would drive to Toronto (5 hours) to go! I want to shop so badly...then I look at Teddi. That is where my money goes. I guess I need a bumper sticker that says "my kid and my money go to MSU" only my kid is a dog and the money the vet hospital.

Lori if you want to talk about Willow's issues just shoot me a PM. We're in the same boat so maybe 2 heads can be better than one in this case.

I have been having dental problems for a while. But now, we have good insurance with the provider where DW works. So, I've got a broken tooth that is now loose. I went to the dentist a couple of days ago. But he's going to have me wait until my appointment in May to extract it and do a deep cleaning in that quadrant. And the next one after that will be for two extractions and another quadrant deep cleaning. That way, he can get as much done with one set of doses of local anesthetic ( I don't want general). It actually holds down the cost.

With the insurance, my visit the other day, which included exam, x-rays, and above gum cleaning cost me nothing. But he is going to build bridges and crowns, as opposed to just pulling a bunch and giving me partials. But my family has a history of dental problems. So, I imagine, by my 60's, I end up with two full plates.

Ron that stinks.. I am so sorry that you have to go through it.  Dental stuff really sucks.  I have had to deal with a bunch of stuff recently with teeth and I just hate going.  I hope your appt. is in early May so you don’t have to wait too long!

I tell ya, when it rains it pours. I have had a load of crap surrounding my life for several months now.. just lots of junk going on in all aspects of my life (family, my health,  my families health, financial, work related and dog related). So I shouldn’t be shocked to find out this afternoon that this abscess I developed  from an ingrown hair that got infected in like 6 hours and turned into a giant infected area on my thigh…. Came back positive for MRSA.   In addition to having extreme pain from everything they have had to do with this abscess and daily doc visits, I now have to be concerned with every insect bite, ingrown hair, pimple or any opening on my body being effected with this staph infection and transmitting it to others.

At this point I am about ready to throw in the towel… lol. I guess I should call back the counselor I have recently been seeing to get in for another appt early next week.    Right now I should be overjoyed I am marrying the man I love in less than 2 months, but everything seems to be getting in the way of that joyous occasion. :(

It's all going to work out.

It sounds morbid but the viewpoint that helps me is that years from now, when I'm dead or dying, how much does this thing or that thing matter? Having had several people close to me pass on, I am aware of the frailty of life. So, as long as I'm not dead, there's a chance for things to get better.
