Here's what I wrote:

You should be ashamed of yourself....posting something like that...really. So, just because you got a puppy you're getting rid of your older dog, a dog that "he has been a great pet for the last seven years"? Wow, you better hope that when you're old someone doesn't just throw you away too. Don't you know your dog, Charlie, has the slimmest chances of getting a new home? He's disabled and has bitten and old, 3 strikes against him. Poor thing. You should really be ashamed of yourself.

Here's what they wrote back:

Hey!  Come on now, Charlie is a great dog other than the biting thing!  Sure he may not win a beauty contest but he is lovable and the nasty smell goes away if you give him a bath every day.  The vet said it's some kind of gland problem, I mostly just put some Brute by fabrag'e on him I think it burns him a little at first but it's better then washing him every day!  I have about a half a bottle left that could go with him. I really think someone out there will take him!

....this has to be a joke or something. I cannot believe someone would really be like that! If it is a joke, it's sick. And if it's real what a real POS the "owner" is.

I can't post what I wrote because its not very nice, but...Black Labbie, that's the exact same thing he wrote back to me word for word. I LOL'ed when I read yours and went back and read what he said to me...word for word

Is that anything that can be held aginst him and he be reported for? Is there anyone on here thats near the area that can do so?

Unfortunately, I don't think so. People like this shouldn't be able to own a plant, nevermind a dog!

i dont think its a joke.. i think the dog really IS up for "sale" but this guy has obviously gotten a load of nasty letters and is winding you guys up. he sounds like my husband in a way.... not that my husband tries to dry clean the dog or anything.... but he would most certainly yank someones chain if he thinks they're being too serious.

fortunately my husband doesnt think animals are expendable..... he cant stand my cousin because she likes to swap dogs for puppies. he cant begin to fathom how a person could do that. his first dog - from when he was a 10 year old - lived to be 17.... and he brags about that to my cousin a lot because she's yet to keep an animal to a decent old age. 

I just pray that his reponse back emails were not true.  I'm just appalled (sp?).  That is so sad (if it's true) and sick (if it's supposed to be a joke)

Oh that sucks big time.  These fools should have thought about what was "fare" before they got a new puppy.

 i read this to my husband and he had a couple of things to say

1. they probably found that dog wandering down a back alley and want to cash in on him....

2. the easiest one to rehome would be the puppy..... morons....

Good God I really really hope it was a joke.  If them getting a puppy was too much than the puppy should be the one to vacate, not the resident dog. 

Please take that email address down. Come ON. Even if the guy is serious about everything, harassing him is not going to solve anything. We're sending out the e-lynch mob because someone is getting rid of an older dog?

I would be willing to bet cold hard cash that the febreze stuff is a total joke. Whether or not the initial post was a joke, he's trolling you guys and laughing his tush off at the idea of making people upset.

Just let it be.  

i agree, Dog_ma.. when i was reading this to my husband his comment to the first reply was that the dog is probably just a stray they're cashing in on..... "i could go into town and whistle and find fifteen dogs like that! we'll be rich! lets go!" ....

and then when i read the perfume comment he rolled his eyes and said that the guy is full of crap and is yanking everyones chain on purpose.

Honestly i WANT him to find a home for Charlie and for the puppy. they deserve someone a little more caring and consistent.............
