This is for the Haters... hehe

    YUMMMMMYYYYYY CRAWFISH!!

We eat these at least once a week and since the DH is gone this week I had to go and buy some already boiled... YUMMMYYY!!! hehe... I know some people said ewwwwww to crawfish on here but we love them down here in this part of TX... Its the big thing right now since they are in season... I ate 3 containers of these bad boys... when DH is here we have at least 12-14 boxes of them if we don't boil them ourselves...

I wouldn't even know where to begin.  Do you eat them the same as Lobster?  I've never had crawfish, the ones up hear are like the size if small scorpions so it wouldn't be worth it.  LOL.

I'm not a picky eater, but I just can't eat them. Do you have to worry about mercury or anything else with them?

hehehe.... i guess it just comes so naturally to us southeast texas people down here... hehe...

Huskymom - you basically eat them like a mini lobster... you just eat their tails and my DH sucks the juice from their claws... YUMMMYYYYY! Spicier the better (for me at least)...

cakana - we dont worry about anything... just eat em up :)

Funny thing, my bro in law is from iowa and when he came down here first time and we were eating these and he was like.... terrified... haha... he was so grossed out and wouldn't touch them... i used to be grossed out when i was younger but now i can't wait until crawfish season!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm thinking I could maybe do it if I'd had enough alcohol. I ate a raw oyster on the half shell once, but I'd had a couple margaritas first Stick out tongue

Mmmmmm, around here we call them crawdads. I've seen divers collecting them from our local lakes.

Kind of a cross between a shrimp and a mini lobster.

Looks like they grow a little bigger in your neck of the woods!

Oh those right there are SMALLLLLLL compared to what you get if you boil them yourself... you get Jumbo and they are freaking huge!!!!!!!!!!

Cakana - at crawfish boils down here... beer or mixed drinks is a must because its usually an all day thing... :)

    OMG, those look great!!!!

We eat the tails, & suck the head. (I'm sure that comments could be made, but I'm going to leave it alone;)

I think those look great too. I want some now. I love lobster, crab, and shrimp. So even thought I've never had crawdads before I would try them.

I love mudbugs (crawfish). For those who don't know, you break them apart and eat the meat out of the tail and suck on the head for the spices. In fact, some cajuns call eating crawfish sucking heads.

It must be a Texas/Louisiana thing....I LOVE crawfish!  Those look delicious!  I also love raw oysters!  When I was in middle school we had a science teacher who did a crawfish boil and taught us all how to properly eat one....sucked heads and all!

Oh heck yea... it took me a while to "perfect" the peeling of a crawfish, but now... i can whoop anyone!!! dang, looking at these pics makes me want some more...

I've never had them but I would try them!

We caught crabs in Florida and made a yummy dip and crap cakes (not enough crabs for an actual meal).  We were kind and chopped them in half to kill them before boiling.  I can't stand the thought of placing any live animal in boiling water.

i couldnt boil them alive either... in SPITE of people telling me they dont have a real brain and dont feel pain.....

i expect some day some giant ugly space alien will say the same about us so i want to be compassionate now while i am able!!

and i'll eat almost anything from the ocean.... especially shell fish... i love oysters - raw of course.. i drool like a dog just thinking about it... and i love steamed clams.. - next in line are crabs, snow crabs, blue crabs.. dont care just dont tease me and give me a couple of claws or a "cake"... that will only insult me!! third is lobster and shrimp.... shrimp are so easy to come by and so boring..... if i must eat them then i'll have them with pasta or maybe in a stir fry or just boiled with sauce... then there are scallops.

i LOVE to go scalloping.. its the most fun thing for me...... i dont mind cleaning them but same as with shrimp.... i dont want them fried and battered. they need pasta and sauce to be thoroughly enjoyed.

all this comes from someone who refuses to eat any kind of orange veggie (carrots, sweet potatoes, etc) or sweet peas.... yucky!
