What is your pet peeve about your dog(s)?

Thought this would be an interesting topic. What is the one certain thing that annoys you when your dog(s) do something?

Cheyanne- she wont bother the other dogs food but as soon as I have my back turned she is chowing down on the cat's food.

Lillie- when we go walking she wont listen to me if Cheyanne is with us   if it's just me and Lillie she will stay at my side and if she wanders away from me she will look back at me to make sure I'm still close

Kujo- the little rat!! she has JJ and Samantha wrapped around her little paw   if we're all eating at the table Kujo will stay in the living room in her chair   but if JJ is eating something she will hide between his legs and let out a little whimper now and then and he gives her food   if Samantha has food she knows if she does any kind of trick Samantha will give her something   But Samantha is now learning to ask me if Kujo can have something before giving it to her.

My biggest pet peeve about Cheyanne and Lillie is that they wont play with toys with me. Maybe one day I'll have my toy playing dog.

Crusher's recall is my biggest pet peeve with him. It simply is not existant.  I should be grateful that he's not a typical husky that will take off in a straight line and never look back.  But he keeps just out of reach, waits for me to catch up then darts off again.

Onyx?  HAHAHAHA what is there about her that isn't a pet peeve? Thats her in a nutshell.  A big old pet peeve.  It annoys me that she doesn't retain anything.  We start at the beginning everyday with any command that isn't a completely common one.  She knows sit, down, stay and kennel.  THATS IT!  We've been working on touch for about a year with the clicker and every morning, I have to load the clicker again!  She just forgets!  Then I bring out the little touch stick we use and she's got no clue about that either, even though the night before she was turning off lightswitches with it.  Sigh... if she wasn't such a sweet dog... Oh her other thing is making a liar out of me.  The very second I started telling people that her recall was as bad as Crusher's, she started to come every time.  If I tell someone she doesn't like strangers, she goes and climbs into their lap.  So that's Onyx, my pet Peeve.

Mine is when we are walking and she's in front of me and will all of a sudden stop and I'll almost go flying over her!

And, also when she makes it seem like she needs to poop but is really sniffing out cat poop to eat!

"  Lillie- when we go walking she wont listen to me if Cheyanne is with us   if it's just me and Lillie she will stay at my side and if she wanders away from me she will look back at me to make sure I'm still close  "

I have the same kind of thing going on with my dog, she usually stays close too me on our walks alone but if another person or a dog was to join us she wonder off and doesn't pay attention to me it's almost like she thinks that I'm too busy talking to notice her or she just doesn't like to be second best?

Max steals! If some one is eating somthing and they turn their head, it take less than 5 seconds for Max to already have it in his tummy.
If we bring in doughnuts in the morning we can't leave the box on the living room table because Max will nose it open and help him self. He favors the sugar covered ones.

    Max, my little thief!

I would have to say that it drives me crazy to let B out, only to be summoned back to the door a minute later because he now wants in. Then 5 minutes later he absolutely NEEDS to go out and the cycle continues. grrrr

Heidi rudely steps on or over Buddy when he is laying down.  Or, she will toss her ball (inadvertantly) right on Buddy's head or close to him...and when she retrieves it from the area, steps all over him.

Buddy is a velcro dog...and sometimes it can be annoying because he is 120#s worth of dog.  If I turn too quickly and he is standing at my left leg, I nearly fall head first right over him.

    Max, my little thief!

Heidi is a thief as well.  Embarrassed

I don't have many complaints.....BUT, the ones I walk will squat and potty when I ask.  The ones DH normally walks....lets just say that they take a bit longer.

Given the current living arrangements  I can't complain much.  They're doing awesome.

My pet peeve regarding Honor has to be the fact that she ruthlessly eats rabbit poop.  The lucky part is that the aforementioned poop is from my own rabbits, so I know where they've been.  But holy cow, it drives me NUTS!  And no matter how much I vacuum, the bunnies always kick some out, and she's on it like two kittens and a ball of yarn.  And I cannot seem to break her of that habit!  Grrrr. Stick out tongue

Maze barks! over every little thing.. And she paces.. Constantly..  except when she has a bone but other wise she'll pace and it drives me NUTS!

When we are walking she'll just stop and I nearly fall.

    • Gold Top Dog

Constant licking when he wants attention and it only happends inside the house. I don't mind him being right beside me but I just don't like a dog licking me all of the time and constantly!

Kaydee does a lick/chop thing when she greets people. its like she wants to lick your face but her jaws make a chopping noise which scares most people. it bothers me because she's obsessive about it and the only thing that makes her stop is time.... you just have to make her sit/stay at a distance until she settles down.. when she is settled she'll stop licking and chopping.

Ben balks when i try to walk him. i should have named him Jack (for Jack@$$) because he's as stubborn as one.

Amber uuuuhhhhhh..... well before i had temporarily rehome her she was perfect. now she's dog aggressive*because she is afraid of big dogs*, territorial, lap protective and sometimes she makes me wonder if she wouldnt try to bite one of the kids if i wasnt standing over her.....

and this new dog.... oh boy..... uh well obnoxious ignorant puppy attitude aside, her peeve would be the cat. she is interested in the bunnies, goats, and ducks in a playful way.. but with the cat the fur stands on end and she growls like a demon before trying to lunge after him... THAT bothers me a lot..

Coke - often doesn't listen/doesn't pay attention no matter WHAT treats you have, tone of voice you use, etc.  He is fast and big so this is dangerous for both of us.  Tonight he took off full speed and I started yelling his name but he didn't care.  He hit the end of a 30' line and was thrown to the ground by the force.  The line clotheslined me b/c I couldn't hop over it fast enough and there's a pink gash across my Achilles.  I don't like him hitting the end of his lines like that and I don't like having my fingers snapped, my arm ripped out of it's socket, and burn marks from being clotheslined.

Kenya - always underfoot.  Just tonight I went upstairs in the dark.  I didn't hear her with me, but somehow she was ahead of me.  I stepped on her foot, so she jumped and stomped on my foot, so I tripped and fell on her and then she panicked and ran.  Now I my foot is numb and has a big bruise from a broken blood vessel and a piece of skin the size of a quarter ripped off.

When Kirby leaves one of his hard chew bones/toys in the middle of the hallway for me to kill my bare foot when stepping on it.  Usually he is good about leaving all his chewies on or near his beds, but he'll often carry them from room to room when following me and sometimes he'll get distracted and just drop them in the most random of places.

Another one of mine is when I've just seen him eat something nasty (like poop) or lick his privates and he then tries to run over and lick me... Ick!
