I just had to share this...

So there was this old lady walking in one direction of the street with a shi tzu. From the opposite direction, suddenly came walking a young man with a cane corso.

The lady, seeing the beast approach, did the only thing she possibly could  - she lifted the little dog into her arms... Then the man, probably so annoyed of getting the same reaction all the time, stopped walking, looked at her, then at his own dog and he just lifted him up! And that's how they passed one another! The man was literally walking by, holding a dog of that size in his arms...

    It was hilarious!

    Just imagine the scene...

    Hi-larious!  I so appreciate a little sarcasm.

    • Gold Top Dog

That is pretty darn funny - and I love it!

Oh man, I cant say I've heard that great of a story in a really long time! That made my day!

I was in such a bad mood today, but man that made me laugh!  Thanks for sharing that!

I would have died. I seriously would have fallen to the ground and not been able to get up.

    • Gold Top Dog

Oh I wish I could have seen that! More people with big "scary" dogs need to start doing that.

    • Gold Top Dog

    Oh, that is priceless!

Now I know what to do the next time somebody does this with Gypsy!

Heck, maybe I should do ti when one of those horridly untrained ankle biters goes fro Gypsy! ROFLLL

HAHA!!! That is hilarious. Good idea! I might have to try to do that with Kaiser although i'm not sure i could pick him up.

Tell ya what - if I'm ever going through Kentucky, maybe I can stop by and will pick up Kaiser for you, a substitute dog picker-upper.

    Haha! sounds like a plan!!

     That's hilarious!!!!

I still don't understand why people get so offended by picking up small dogs, though. I had an encounter in the park yesterday where a guy came up to me and Rascal with his (fortunately leashed) pulling dog. I say, "Sorry, Rascal's not terribly friendly, he might bite your dog" and start walking away. The guy says, "Oh, that's okay, my dog isn't friendly either!" and keeps walking towards us!! SurpriseSurprise If you're passing another dog in very close proximity and you don't know the dog AND you have a dog that is easily picked up AND could easily die if said close dog turned out to be aggressive... as long as you're not scowling or sneering at the other dog/owner, what's the big deal?

I pick Rascal up to cross the street around here because the traffic is intense and careless and I need to know that if I'm sprinting to avoid being crushed by a car then my dog is coming with me instead of freezing in terror (as he tends to do) and getting smashed in the middle of the road. Does that mean that the drivers should pick up their cars to make fun of me? Stick out tongue

Just throwing some of the other perspective in there. Wink I love large dogs, but I'm not getting anywhere near one with my tiny little guy unless I know the dog, I know the owner, and it's in a controlled environment. Just like I would pick up my toddler if we were walking in close vicinity to unknown dogs. Just playing it safe.
