Mindless Chatter - Friday

    Mindless Chatter - Friday

I got ZERO sleep last night. Zip, zero, nada. I was wide awake at midnight then when I did fall asleep Dakota woke me up every half hour to an hour. In between that I was having these mini nightmares about mice crawling on me so I was waking up from that too.

Today is going to be very hard. Not only do I have to work but I have to sit in an all day conference. With zero sleep. Plus Dakota's stomach is acting up so I expect to come home to all kinds of messes. I would really like to leave them all outside today but I don't really trust them to be outside all day by themselves.

At least it should be a beautiful day weather wise.

Oh and on a good note, Lily and I won a $5 gift certificate in training class last night. It was a strange game with a goal that I thought should have been the opposite of what we were trying to do but Lily won anyway. Go Lily.

     TGIF

Go Lily!!!!! (Sorry Julie I keep spelling her name with 2 l's I will get it eventually)

Boss is on the rampage again. sigh

I want to take the day off so badly as the weather is supposed to be awesome. I posted under health TEDDI was limping last night (NO!!!!)  Tomorrow is Belle's agility trial, I am really looking forward to it.

Julie I recommend a LARGE cafe mocha before your meeting. Between the espresso and the sugar it should keep you awake. That is what I do for meetings.

    Have a good day everyone!

Oh NO! Do you think it's related to her HD/surgery?

    • Gold Top Dog

No it was her right FRONT however she supposedly has less severe HD in her left rear (not operated on) so if she were sore there it could be shifting, but I don't think that is it at all. But you know my panic.

    • Gold Top Dog

Usually diagonal pairs take up the strain. That is why I don't think it is related to her right rear side, just to clarify.

Hmmmmm, no ideas, but will keep non limping vibes heading your way.

I raked yesterday.  Felt so good.  It was just a yardwork kind of day.  So, I borrowed a rake from the owners of the campground, and raked our site.  Very well buried under leaves  It's cool to smell the just uncovered spring soil, to see the little blades of grass trying to come through.......yeah, I'm nuts, but I so enjoy working in the yard.  Would rather do that than almost anything.  Playing in the dirt makes me happy.

We were raking yesterday too, and the grass is starting to get green. Spring is coming!!!

Also, on a totally unrelated note, my sister is having some extensive heart testing. She pased out on the Metro the other day, and her heart beat was abmornal. We both pass out easily, mostly when we get claustrophobic, but she passes out more often than I do. The combo of passing out and an irregular heart beat have the doctors concerned, and all 6 of her EKGs (I think that's what they are called) have had the same, abnormal results.

She is only 30 and the abnormalities are in the strength of the current running through her heart. My grandfather has congenital heart block (has a pace maker because his heart would go down to like 20 bpm), and I have an uncle who died when he was 7 when his heart stopped beating (suspected to be related to electrical issues also). So there is a history of weird heart electrical currents in the family.

Hopefully it's not too serious, and the upside is that with a pacemaker they can keep your heart on track, but I am really worried about my big sister.

Please send some healthy vibes for her. She and I are very close so I am scared for her/about her all at once.

Good vibes for Dakota and PPA's sister!

I got an email this morning from my mom that my childhood dog, Oreo, is sick.  She's 13yo and epileptic, so I need some good thoughts for her as well.  They're taking her to the vet this morning I think.

Today is actually my Friday for once - usually I work Saturdays teaching training classes, but I'm between sessions right now and will be heading out of town next week, so my boss wants me to work Monday instead.  Yay for a four day week!

Sending good thoughts your way too for Oreo and for you!

Well yesterday, after work, M&M and I went to the dog park for almost two hours because the weather has been so nice.  Both of them we swimming and splashing in the ponds and they came home smelling like dead fish  Ick!

While I was showering them I did something bad to my back so I'm being VERY careful today.  I did make Chole (chickpea curry) and basmati rice for dinner so that was awesome.

Thoughts and prayers for everyone worried about a loved one today.

Good vibes to everyone with family members who are having a rough day!

I actually got up at 8am today (I don't work until noon), so Honor and I went on a long walk.  It was nice to be up and about in the early morning.  It's lovely outside, which makes me not want to go to work. Stick out tongue

Hopefully DH and I will find out if our bid was accepted on the house today!!!

    Good juju to EVERYONE! ~*~*~*~**~~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Man, I feel icky. They sent me home from work! Pirate and I are going to snuggle up and nap I think.

ETA: YAY, I got a C+ in my stats class! I didn't think I'd ever celebrate a C but I'll take what I can get. Whew, I was sweating that one!

Whoa!  We don't really sound like your typical Friday crowd.  I hope everyones days cheer up.

on that note: can you hear me banging my head on my desk?  I just had a major setback with Crusher.  I've been working on his leash reactivity and he's been doing so well.  But I pushed it too far.  I took him over to see Lady, the dog next door.  She's a sweet little thing and though she barks alot, the times that Crusher has gone over to see her off leash, she's just sniffed and let sniff, he loses interest and takes off.  So I had him out and around the yard, I had already take Onyx back inside and I kept taking him over near Lady, sitting him, praising him, yada yada yada.  He was interested, but he focused on my everytime.  Finally, at one point Lady suprised me and pulled some of her chain for god knows where, i thought she was at the end of it already... and came right up to him for a sniffy.  He just sniffed back and that was it!  He came back to me and focused back on me when I called him.  And then all of a sudden Lady lunged at him!  Snapped at his face and it was on!  I could have cried.  He never made contact with her thank god, but geez..what was she thinking?  I never saw it coming.  My fault totally, I was so focused on Crusher's body language I totally missed any signals she gave off I guess, though I could have sworn she was wagging madly with her ears perked up.  Maybe that was for my benifit.  I dunno.  Anyway, I turned and walked us away from her a few steps, put him back in a sit focus while she was still frothing and then came inside chattering and kinda praising him.  I have no idea if I should have done that...Maybe I should have just hauled him in...I dunno.  BANG[head hits desk again]

Oh!  My baby will be home in a bit!  I haven't seen her in 3 whole days!  I'm so excited!
