Yay for good news! I've been following this post. As long as she keeps eating - she can beat the liver problems!

I'm so happy for you!  Poor CoCo...she's been through a rough ride here.  That was scary, but she's on the road to recovery.  I'm a big fan of Milk Thistle too...its good stuff.

She's home!!  She was orginally supposed to stay at the vet until atleast 2 days w/ a blood test to check her status being done today.  But after lunch yesterday the vet said Co-Co was just *so* perky that she had to see where we were at.  Her values were back in the normal range!  I'm just amazed that it happened so quickly.  She went from being at 4.1 when we took her in to .6 in less than 24 hours!  Even the vet seemed kinda amazed.

Vet said that it didn't seem like she liked their food too much b/c she spilled her water and threw the dog food into it.  But when we took her home she scarfed up her dinner like her old self.

We have to give her sub-q fluids 2x a day (today and tomorrow).  I don't really like doing it b/c I think I'm going to hurt her but it doesn't seem to really bother her.  We have to give her 500 units at a time so I was told to move around 2 or 3 times.  That's what made it hard b/c once we had 300-400 in her in was hard to find a place.  She was really good about it though once we got it going she just stayed there, didn't even struggle.

We've got 3 other meds we have to give her too.  I'm going to have to write down a schedule so I don't get confused.  There's 1 pill that has to be given either 1 hour before or 2 hours after she eats, then 1/2 of one that has to be given every 8 hours, and another one that has to be given either 2 hours before or after any other meds.  Oh yea..and the milk thistle :o)

But its worth it to have her home!  Thanks for all the support, good thoughts, and prayers, they REALLY helped.

Like you said, the power of good iDog vibes helped Coco.  I'm a big believer in that kind of energy.

Nothing better than being home to get back to normal.

So glad she is on the short road to recovery.  Good luck!
