    Why is she doing this?

Kiddles was making this sound and I didn't know if it was hairball or what. I have never seen a hairball so I don't know if she was trying to pass one or what. I had my camera handy so I took a short vid.

Looks like a sneezing/coughing fit to me. Cats don't often sneeze...I'd have the vet look at her for a possible Upper Respiratory, allergy, asthma, or etc

It seems like she is trying to pass something or she was sneezing. When my cats do something like that I give them a little bit of hairball remedy, it always helps.

retching is completely different tho. The cat stays in one position and seems incapable of moving and is clearly upset....the neck stretches way out and they make repeated, gagging (open mouthed) motions....you see their stomachs hitching and it is in rapid succession...

    urg...urg...urg,urg,urg,urg....BLAAGHH is how it goes.

Looks very different than this video.

hm... doesn't look like she's got a hairball - but there might be something else caught in her throat. Does not look like sneezing from a URI - there are usually more symptoms - runny eyes and nose.

I'd let a vet take a look at her.

It looks to me like it could be a possible hairball. Some of my cats do that, when it is getting near to the time for them to throw up hairballs. It isn't the actually throwing up of the hairball, but the hairball starting to cause problems. On the other hand, it also sounds like a cat that may have asthma. If it gets worse, or Kiddles continues to do it, you'd want to have it checked out. Tis the season, with the pollen, for possible allergies and asthma.

Its rare when she does it. She also did it during the winter so I don't think she might be allergic to pollen and stuff. I will let the vet look at the video and if he tells me to bring her in I will do it. Thanks guys!
