    My cat needs hugs

     This is my cat:

Yesterday I had the scare of my life.

I left her indoors when I went out (as usual) but DH and a couple of people were still tehre putting in the new kitchen.  She got out at some point and as I came home she got careless and ran in front of a car!!

The car braked, I heard a thud and then I saw her RUN.  (Good sign I thought).  I looked for her frantically until she came to the back door to be let in (another good sign).  I checked her over very quickly, she didnt seem physically hurt (she didn't flinch or anything) but she didn't want anyone but me near her.  I drew the curtains in our bedroom and left her on our bed in the dark and quiet thinking she might be in shock.

Since then she has eaten really well and has been running about playing normally and asking for cuddles (I've been trying to tell her to take it easy).

I haven't taken her to the vet yet.  This happened yesterday evening so it would have to be out of hours which will cost a fortune and she SEEMS ok.  I am debating on taking her in tomorrow just for my peace of mind.  But she is acting so normal if I hadn't SEEN it happen I would never have known there was a thing wrong.  The only difference is that she is more cuddly than usual (she's cuddly anyway).  Please send cuddles for her as she had quite a scare.

Sounds to me like she's just had a nasty shock.  Cuddles to her from me.

I'd say take her anyway, at the next regular time, just for your own piece of mind. My vet charges $25 for an office visit. Who knows what that thud was. And you said she just kept right on truckin'. And doesn't seem to be worse for the wear. But a precursory exam couldn't hurt anything.

Cats are very stoic and don't usually show pain/discomfort. So I agree with Ron, take her in tomorrow morning just to be sure everything is okay. The feline diabetes board that I go to had a post about how a ladies cat came in limping. She checked him out, no reaction and she couldn't tell anything was wrong. She took him to the vet to be safe, and turns out the back leg was badly broke. The cat never flinched during her or the vets exam.

Sending hugs and hoping everything is okay!

    She's a beautiful cat--absolutely gorgeous!

I'd take her if it were me.  You never know if something internal could be going on, etc.

Oh, I really hope that your kitty is not hurt but I agree with the above posts.  When your vet opens I'd make an appointment to just be on the safe side.  Until then, give your kitty some chin rubs from me & know that many good vibes are on their way from the States to you & your kitty.

She is very cute, sending her good healing vibes and cuddles.

As said by everyone else I'd take her to the vets just for a check up, but I am a worry wart fur mum. But I seem to end up with cats that have dramas my dogs always seem to be quite good *touch wood*

Good luck and give us an update she may want some painkillers the day after anyway she will be sore, a car is a lot bigger than a cat even if she only got tapped.
