I think I figured it out!

How to get the raise I want!  I got a whole 40 cents for my year review...not enough to make a difference.  They changed the dog training pay plan so with the 8.90 an hour, I will average the same per week training, but will get a 20% commission on classes sold.  So, if I sell one class per week, thats an extra $30 per check...still not much.  But, I was reminded by another manager that we are supposed to get 25 cents for each animal area we certify in.  I'm already certified in one...aquatics...still need my raise from that one.  I'm going to mention it to my manager and tell her that I want to get certified in all areas.  To which she will probably say that I don't have time to do that.  I'll take the test on my own time.  Then she will probably come up with some other reason that I can't and I will say "well, I thought corporate wants multiple people certified in each area and they would like to have everyone certified?"  She can't shut me down there.  If she still says no for some stupid reason, I will email the head animal guy and ask him.  He will tell me that I can because they would like for everyone to be certified in AT LEAST one area but encourage more.  That will get me a $1 raise and help make a difference in pay!  All this time spent thinking about how to go about this in the most successful way has paid off I think!  I now have a way that she CANNOT deny since it involves people above her.

Oh, and I stood my ground and told them that I WILL NOT open in the morning and come back in the evening for a class after I move.  I cannot afford it.  I'm not on salary so I shouldn't have to do that.  I said I will train a class on a "day off."  So, now I am working with the scheduling guy to come up with a schedule that will work for me to sell classes best and so I can still have a life of my own.  No more driving in twice a day and closing every other night I work.  I have responsibilities other than PETCO too!
