    Hello! Lurker coming forward

Hi! I've been surfing this forum for a while now, but haven't really posted before. I have two furbabies, one being a dog. Her name is Belle, and she's a collie/husky mix (my close friends and I call her a cusky). She's coming up three. Both of my animals are pretty much the same age, being about two weeks apart. I was hoping to post more pictures, but apparently I can't access webshots at work, so I will post more when I get home. I'm hoping someday to start agility with my dog for fun, seems she would be good at it.

One of the reasons I'm posting is that we will be moving to New York City in an couple of months and I could use some help! I was hoping to find some contacts or information that could help me with finding an apartment that will take a 50 lb dog (that's not too expensive and not in a horrible part of town, if that's possible). I've been accepted into Columbia University for a Master's program, so that is why we are moving.

Look forward to meeting/hearing from people!

Congrats on your university acceptance! I can't help you out with housing in NY. I would imagine it is not easy to find affordable housing there but I;ll keep my fingers crossed for you. Looking forward to your pictures, Welcome to the other side!

Hi & welcome!  I'm glad you came out from the shadows.  Congrats on getting accepted to Columbia!  That's VERY exciting.  I can't help you with housing in NYC but if you want/need to get out of the city with Belle, come on over to PA!

My 2 1/2 year old  daughter wants the strange looking dog your standing beside. I told her it was a miniature horse and she said "that's not a horse it's too little. Horses are big."

And Belle is absolutely adorable. She almost looks full collie.

Oh yeah I almost forgot. Welcome!!

Hehe, yeah, you'd be surprised with all the reactions I get. First look most people think it's a big dog.

Let's see if I can get somemore pictures.

Wow congratulations!!   I don't have any advice but I know Brooklyn is a better place to get more for your money.  I am afraid NY does NOT = affordable.  I wish you luck.

Here are some threads regarding city living and NY maybe you can find some helpful info in them.  I know there are forum friends from NY hopefully they will see this and help with advise.  Welcome!!
