Let me tell you about my week, first this is both dog and undog related. I had been feeling stressed all week because I have friends and family coming in from several states to stay with me for derby, so I have been working and cleaning house, getting the ground ready for my garden at the community garden not to mention taking care of the yard. Last weekend I noticed that the dog directly behind our house had not been seen in some time, I mentioned this to my husband who is home more and we figured that Max met a bad end, his owner is not even pond scum since we had been warned that he was suspected of dealing drugs from the house, we had also been told that Max bit a girl last summer. Max btw was a beautiful wonderful looking Rotty when they moved in, he was ruined in a matter of months dispite the repeated calls to AC by me and 2 neighbors.
Turns out I was not stressed, I was sick and wound up spending Thursday night at the local hospital curtosity of my dr. Kidney infection, bladder infection and low potassium count. I came home Friday afternoon, sore, tired and even more stressed because my cleaning wings had been clipped, and my mother was due to arrive today, sigh......I will get over it I guess and I am doing better.
Here is the kicker, when I got home Friday we let Kord out back to run off steam and he made a bee line to the back gate and.........a pit bull puppy!? I told the DH great, the dog will be ruined before he gets a chance. Well last night the neighbors had a cook out and I was letting Kord do his act with the frisbee when out from behind the garage behind us comes...pit bull puppy number 2!? Thank good ness the children did not see them, I called Kord to the house and whispered words of warning to the parents and my neighbor, between her daughters she has 5 grandchildren ranging in ages 3 thru 10, and they are dog lovers because they truly loved my Babe and they are warming up to Kord.
The pups are male and female, about 4 months old and I can tell you right now they will live outside, one dog house, unkept yard and NO love or family interaction. These will be the headlines of the future and I can almost predict they will breed unsupervised. My heart just broke for them. After this week I am going to have my DH re-enforce the back fence and even put a second cross fence in front of ours for added strength. I do not fear the puppies, they were both so sweet. But right now all I can see for them is a dim future.
