Spring Time!

i have a litter of bunnies (9 of them, two black and seven whites lol ) and i have ducklings trying to hatch right now as i am typing..... i had to leave them because i want to help them out of their shells soooo bad!! but i was told thats not a good idea... they are in a nest being tended to by their mom so its best to let her do her job!

but i am so STOKED right now!!!! Big Smile Cool

.... just wanted to share lol this is the first good day in almost a year.... i lost my paycheck last week. the insurance company handling DH's accident was acting squirrely and we thought we were going to have to take them to court, and then the county jumped all over ME because my house didnt have siding on it..... why do i need siding? because it makes the house look pretty...... but i live on a dead end road.... Its a rule!!

anyway, we get the insurance company's check next week, i get paid double for watching kids over time, and the house has bloody siding on it now!!

Ahh I want to see baby bunnies. Samantha has been bugging me for another bunny. She found a picture of her and MoMo the other day. I took her to TSC yesterday and she got to pet the baby ducks there. I wanted to take one home so badly. But what am I going to do with a duck?

what would you do with a duck? never buy eggs again lol

i have two hens and they keep us well stocked in eggs!! they're a good investment! everyone should have their own laying hen... whether its chicken or duck. the eggs taste the same so it doesnt matter. only difference is ducks dont scratch up the ground or roost on your car. yep i love my duckies!

Are duck eggs better than chicken eggs? For Lillie I mean. Samantha told me to tell you to send her a baby duck in the mail.

lol that pic was last years easter Big Smile the duck farthest from the camera is one i call Pale Face.. i can tell him from all the others because his bill has always been yellow instead of orange like everyone else's.

i'm going to take some pics of the newborns today and try to get them uploaded. i still dont have internet so i'll have to use my moms slow computer.. but at LEAST i have an External Drive!!

lol if i could i would send you a ducky but i dunno if i trust the Post Office.. they'd probably keep it for themselves because they're so danged cute!

ETA - duck eggs have more protein in them than a chicken's egg. they look totally different once you crack them open. the white on a duck is clear when its raw and yolk is huge where as a chicken's white is .. yellowish/clear and the yolk is small.. duck eggs make chicken eggs look puny lol but they taste the same. we havent eaten store bought chicken eggs in ages. my mom has been supplying us with chicken eggs since the ducks started their nesting. once you get used to duck eggs its kinda weird to go back to chickens lol they just dont look clean!

when i found out the protein content is more in a duck egg i was stoked because thats what my female bully needs - among other things - to get her back to normal. so.. yeah they're good for dogs AND people Wink

EEEEEEEP!!!!! No FAIR! My WANT DUCKIES! And when did you rabbits start breeding successfully? And does this mean the bullies are gonna start getting rabbit meat? And how many duckies are you gonna have? And do the bullies get ducky meat too? And can Duckies survive a NW Ontario winter? Or do we need to move in with you? AND I WANT NEW SIDING!!!!!
