Hmm, not sure I could do a breakfast burger

LOL here in NC you can get a pork chop biscuit or a chicken biscuit for breakfast.  DH thinks he's died and gone to heaven I'm like Ick!

Well instead of his afternoon play session I just did some training with Bugsy. He learns instantly.  Fortunately he learns despite me being just a horrible 'trainer'. The class trainer said to teach them to sit anywhere and whether you are looking at them or near them etc.  No problem with that.  Told us to walk past a treat, he ate the treat the first time, 2nd time right to me I sent him back for the treat.  Told him to get his toy (sock toy) did that.  Go get a ball.  Did that. Go get a drink. Yup.  More sit, stay, wait, come, and our new one 'catch'.  About 15 minutes because I didn't know what to do next.  He was fired up more Mom more.  Came inside and played 'find it' with DH.

Now he is out trying to catch a bird Indifferent

I wish I were half the trainer he needs - he just looks at me like I am so bored what else you got.  i hope that this class presents us with some new stuff.  I know the environment will make it more of a challenge but I think he's going to 'get it' quickly.

Ah well.  DH has been working tons so looking forward to a relaxing weekend!

Send Bugsy to me for a while.  (Not really sure that I could help with training, but he sounds like such a fun guy!)

Today was "shopping day."  I took my lil sis shopping, & we had a blast.  She's a great kid, & though she was difficult to get to know at first, her personality is now shining through.  I'm so happy that I decided to volunteer for such a great program.

Fiancé & I bought a jeep today.  It's cute, & he really likes it.  (I'm ready to find some mud to play in with it!)

Tomorrow we are going to look at a possible wedding venue.  It's here local, & when I looked at it yesterday, I fell in love with it.  The garden is beautiful, & it can accomodate 250 guests.  We aren't planning on that many guests but, if need be, it can handle that many.

The new foster/possibly permanent dog starts heartworm treatment next week.  Confinement should be easy because she is terrible overweight & quiet lazy.  I hope that she enjoys the rest now, because it won't last long.....

Congrats Amanda! I didn't realize you were getting married.

It is so gorgeous here these days and is supposed to remain sunny and in the low 70s for the next several days. I'm so tempted to plant some annuals, but I just feel like there's another storm or two coming and hate to have to redo everything. I actually have plenty of clean up to do in the yard before planting anyway, so maybe I'll work on that this weekend.

OK I know he would like running with you and Bevo and I know from other posts you are much more advanced a trainer than me Smile  Poor guy needs more!

    Congrats on the Jeep!

Good luck with the venue, I think its important that it is what you want.

Didn't know you had a new foster - more info?

Teach Bugs, fun, practical stuff.  Teach him to find the remote, keys, or phone.  It's pretty easy.  Get him to interact with it first, & reward for interaction.  Have him hold it, & reward for the hold.  THen have him, give it to you, & reward again.  Give everything a name, so that he knows what he's looking for.  Bugs would probably like tracking too.

The new foster is a 4 year old, red, dobie girl.  She came to us Monday night.  She's an absolute doll, & DF & I are both smitten by her.  (DF isn't a dobie guy, so him being smitten is a big deal.)  Her family is losing their home, has a chronically sick child (cystic fibrosis) & just couldn't afford to take care of Shadow.  Our trainer, was also their trainer, & she called us when she found out that Shadow needed a new home.  She weighed 108 pounds yesterdaySad, & she has heartwormsCrying, so we have a few obstacles to overcome, but I'm pretty sure that she'll be fine.

    Here she is..

Glad I'm not the only one who missed all the news, too!!  Congrats again, Amanda!  Have you set a date??

No worries though. I'm sure we'll be getting an invitation. The place holds 250 people, so that's enough for family and idog friends.  I just know that Amanda's wedding would be a great time too Big Smile

thanks for the ideas - we are just startiing a distraction proofing class after which I would like to try tracking or agility - I know he will love both.  We play "find it "all the time with toys and food and he loves it, probably his favorite game.

Shadow is beautiful.  I have a thing for dobe's with natural ears.  I hope that the HW treatment goes well.  What do you think her ideal weight is?  I have seen some very tall dobe's but that sounds a lot

Paige, we are leaning towards April of next year.  A lot of that decision will revolve around finding the perfect venue.

Cathy, I'd be thrilled to have some idog friends at the ceremony.  Yes, I'm pretty sure that the reception will be pretty interesting.  DF & I both like to have a good time, & we want to insure that the guests have a great time too.

Karen, Shadow should probably weigh around 80-85 pounds.  She is a touch taller than Bevo, but not tall enough to carry that much weight.

Wow, Amanda, congrats on the impending wedding! Shame on you, not making a big announcement of it. Stick out tongue
