Well, about three months ago I posted that I might be bringing home a pomeranian. Well, he's here!
This dog was brought into our all indoor boarding facility when he was eight months old and never taken home (his brother a ten year old shih tzu came too). The owner would come in monthly to pay for their stay, but not visit with them. This past January they were still there and the owner decided she wanted to give them up. My supervisor, who was in love with the shih tzu, offered to take him and I was asked if I would like to take Benny. I said yes pretty quickly after talking it over with SO. Three months go by without anything happening (we need paperwork and such to make it all official). But finally on thursday night I got to bring little Benny home with me! Unfortunately Gizzy is still there, but hopefully soon he will be able to go home too. [&o]
Unfortuneately Benny had not seen the outside for one year by now(he's one year and eight months now) (and what he had seen in the past, he probably didn't remember much of anyway since he was so young)and it brought tears to our eyes to watch him take his first steps outside. He ran in circles on his leash as we walked to the car. When he got to my house we met up with SO and the other dogs and took a little walk. Buster and Max had met him before but he was new to Lady. Everyone did great!
Inside was a different story, and I now know how challenging his training will be. He tried to walk on the coffee table, sit in our faces while we ate or drank anything, and stairs were obviously new to him (though he flies up and down them like a champ now). Potty training is going to be a nightmare. He never really got it down at the boarding facility either, he would always go in his room.
I am so happy to finally give him a home where he can be happy and be loved. He needs this and he has not stopped smiling now for two days. [

I will post pictures of him in the photo section if I can get him to sit still long enough for me to take some of him. [
