as of right now all is well. STIR CRAZY but okay. Lily is on spring break so both kiddos home...and all 4 dogs inside....ACCCCK!

Our bedroom has flooded before but we dug  atrench last year and it seems to be holding up okay still~

I am hoping the front of my house isn't flooded when I get home.  It never has before but it gets dangerously close anytime we get a hard downpour and I saw some flooding today while driving.  I cleaned out our gutters really well though this year so I am hoping that helped.  Of course, they are probably full of leaves again but it is better than 3 years worth of super compacted leaves.

Looks like my work on the gutters paid off so far! 

I can't believe how high the Trinity River is though....I cross over it on my way home and it was high!  My pool is really really full too.  There have been quite a few flooding incidents on the news tonight. 

I remember last summer I drove into some flooding water and didn't realize it until it was too late to do anything.  It was in a residential area and started pouring and it all just happened so fast.  The rushing water ended up ripping my bumber off.  That is when I decided it was time to get a lower maintenance car and one higher from the ground.  I am glad I don't have to worry about that anymore.  At least that really expensive piece of plastic did it's job and protected my engine.

It was pretty here when I left for work, this morning, but it turned ugly FAST.  The winds have been really strong, & it has poured rain all day. 

This is the first really hard, sustained rain that we have gotten since I moved here, & I have to say that, at least the streets that I travel, are still in very good shape.  My back yard is very wet, & sloppy.  The park that is behind us has water standing in various areas, and quiet a few trees that have been blown over.

I made it home safely, & the house is in one piece.  I can't ask for more than that!

it FINALLY stopped!

About the Trinity...my dh works in "Big Green", waaay up high, in DT Dallas and he said he watched it get higher and higher really quickly as the day went on. SCARY!

I actually work right next to the levy back near Greenwood Cemetary for a major landmark, right off of Univeristy.  My boss lives right off of it so we used to walk it.  I have since made her start walking in the neighborhoods b/c I enjoy all the old houses and flowers but when we walk back there and the Trinity is really really high it always feels really strange as it is swallowing grass we normally see people walking on.  Then as it goes down, you can see how high it really got.  

Glad everyone is OK!!  Saw some crazy wind footage on CNN just down, not sure if it was DFW or Texas in general.  Very scary!
