A couple pictures of Sabina [kind of Img Heavy]

Just a few random pictures of her... We're new to this sight, so I figured I'd share some.

(sorry if they're big, I keep adjusting them on a smaller scale, but for some reason it doesn't make them any smaller on the forum Indifferent )

^^^ Vicious guard dog (jk, her lip just got stuck behind her tooth, lol.)

    ^^^ OUCH! Cat SLAP!!!

^^^ "Come back and pay with me you Chicken!!!"

^^^ yeah... some watch dog... (btw, it's our mud room, so don't mind all the shoes...and idk who let the hen into the house.. Confused  - just to let you all know, we are NOT hillbillies, lol)

^^^ Yeah... that ball didn't last too long...

^^^ "Throw the Frisbee!!! Come on, throw it!!!"

    ^^^ I got it!

^^^ "Ahh!" Yeah...that's a big snow drift, lol!

^^^ yeah... she didn't like the snowman... he was "creepy"

^^^ "So... you gonna share that?"

^^^ Devil Doggie?  Haha, she looks like a Doberman - Pit Bull - Great Dane thing - lol. (She's really a GSD/Carolina Dog mix)

Ok... that's it for now, sorry for the overload.

    Enjoy!

Sabina is beautiful and royal-looking!  I know you were talking about her breed. I don't know if anyone mentioned GSD/Pharaoh Hound or not, but I got a distinct Pharaoh hit in some of these pics, especially with the ears...

Anyway, she's gorgeous and so nice with the livestock! LOL

    Who Knows Mix ?

Aw, thank you. She is surprising great with livestock and other animals (expect other dogs). It's so funny because she absolutely loves my horse...the horse on the other hand hates her, but Sabina tries to jump up to lick her face and starts whining when the horse doesn't accept her kisses.

That puppy is adorable! What a handsome mix!

Pharaoh Hound was one of my possible guesses, but the vet ruled that out. She told me that Pharaohs are very rare in NY (not that the Carolina dog isn't? lol), plus being mix with a German Shepherd, she would be a taller dog and would most likely have a longer muzzle...

(although she looks a lot like this guy:  http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/images7/Pharaoh_Hound_mix_Mox_Croped_Pix.jpg )

^^^ His body's a bit longer and his neck ties in at a higher carriage then hers but the head looks very similar in shape, not to mention the coat color.

She (the vet) did mention to me possibly some type of sight hound at one point, but resorted to Australian Kelpie just for size and a touch of their body structure. After speaking with that Carolina Dog lady, she' certain she has some Carolina Dog/American Dingo (Carolina Dogs, form what I've been told are a mix of Sight hound and American Dingo) in her.. she has every single trait that's associated with the "breed," so just wrap this up in time for the insurance inspector, we're going with GSD/Carolina Dog....

but, yeah, who knows... lol Smile

    thank you.

There have been absolute idiots out there crossing malinois with pits.... she certainly looks like the litter of puppies that wormed its way into rescue.

    She's a mighty pretty girl!

^^^ Yeah, she's a rescue - we adopted her from the local SPCA Shelter. She was an abuse case... her previous owner was arrested for animal neglect/cruelty, along with other charges. Despite that, she's really friendly and out going to [most] people - some guys she gets a bit more suspicious of and nerved at, but once they act all friendly and excited to see her, she snaps out of her defense and loves them. She hates other dogs, but we're working on getting her properly socialized and she has gotten much better since - other animals are no problem...she loves them all. lol. Just for the record, she's not a pit mix (despite what many people think - she's not nearly as wide and "thick" in person as the pictures show).. she's a GSD mixed with what we found out to be a Carolina dog... I know CDs aren't really a confirmed breed nor are they very common, especially since they are from "feral stock," but she has certain traits of the Carolina dog (which is supposedly only found in "breeds" of that sort). We actually came into contact with a CD breeder and she went absolutely ga-ga over Sabina, talking about the history of the breed, yatta, yatta, yatta... I guess in terms of trying to make the Carolina dog a more recognized and official breed, she's been working on breeding constant characteristics and traits into those dogs, and told me that despite the GSD in her...Sabina has the overall appearance that they are leaning towards. Sabina can also stack like a GSD, although when walking, she doesn't have the same low sweeping movement.

She's a pretty cool dog, very versatile,  I'm very happy to have her.

    Thank you!
