    Roommates! (vent)

Ugggg.... I went out last night and when I left my roommate was home. I left Jack out (which is her idea) because he will cry when he can hear her in the house and hes in his crate. Normally this is fine as she loves Jack and likes to have him around. She had to run out to the store and left him out. Which I have told her a million times not to do because he gets into the trash and eats things he shouldnt. In fact she has cleaned up the trash he knocked over twice already. I have tried to explain to her that i cant teach him not to knock over the trash beacuse im not here when he does it so he stays in the crate. Fast forward to 4:30 am. I get home and big suprise she tells me about how he knocked over the trash again. And why can't i teach him not to do it!!! My answer to which was thats why he stays in his crate. But the real icing on the cake was that in the trash was a piece of cardboard with paint all over it beacause i was painting. So he had got paint all over his feet which he then got on my nice white bedspread. So I went to bed at 6 AM!!! because my roommate "feels bad about him being in the crate". So i had to put my foot down. I told her its fine if you would like to have him out with you but if your gone he needs to be put up. No ifs ands or buts. Ug.

That's good you put your foot down. Tell her its not only to make your lives easier so he doesn't destroy the place, but its also for his safety so he doesn't get into something he shouldnt and get very sick or worse. If need be you can tell her about horror stories of dogs left alone not crated and how they had to come up with thousands of dollars for emergency surgery, maybe then she will understand. Hopefully she finally understands! Sorry about your bedspread and mess...
