Mindless Chatter Monday

    Mindless Chatter Monday

I have no idea what to wear today. I need to go shopping.

I gave both aussies a bath last night. Lily still hates the blow dryer. Poor thing almost wouldn't come to me after. But they are both nice and sily soft and fluffy now. That won't last long ;p

I'm going to be in meetings alllllll day today. Bleh.

Dakota is really ticking me off lately. She gets her mind set on something and just won't quit. She's the most persistent dog I've ever met. I finally locked her in Neiko's crate for half the night then locked her out of the bedroom for the other half just so I could sleep.

Sounds like Dakota is feeling better!

We had a big weekend. We went to Grand Rapids on Saturday to watch and Ultimate Air Dog competition. The dogs were jumping HUGE!!! They had one dog a female Chessie going over 26'! Her name too was Dakota and she won the Purina IDC qualifier for the Regionals. I actually met to meet face to face a person I have been emailing for months. She is a vet and a dock dogger, she has been so supportive of me with Belle when she seized, and then Teddi's ordeal I wanted to thank her in person. She has 8 dogs she travels with, one Mastiff, 3 Labs, a JRT and 3 Chiuhua's (how the heck to you spell that?). I think after this weekend is almost a given we will get a puppy in the Fall...IF we can get our bills under control first. Even Art was talking about it.

The weather was nice too. After we got back on Sat PM (around 8PM) we fed the dogs and then took them for a walk, I didn't freeze YIPPEEE! Sunday was nice too. Hey I trotted Petie for the first time in 6+ months!! He felt pretty good, but he was pretty tense. I think for my ride on Tues since it will be in lessons, I will tranquilize him so we have a relaxed positive experience.

Tonight is agility and swimming. Monday's are big days.

Hey Julie do you think you might come on Friday? Let me know.

I got to see agility trials, the big dog air jump thingy (not as far as yours though, Max's Mom!) the dogs were going about 22', except one small dog that was going 4' lol.  and I got to see fly ball, which was hilarious! because there was a great dane and everytime he went to get the ball he would miss it, and would stumble around trying to grab it lol so cute!

With the air jump thing, one golden retreiver just wasn't having it, and would run so fast down the dock thing, then suddenly turn and go down the stairs, around the side of the pool, run up the stairs on the other side, and walk slowly into the pool down the other stairs and get the ball that way lol.  sooo cute.

I also go to go through this big exhibition hall (50,000 sq ft :D) and see tonnes of rare breed dogs!!!!!!!!  I met Bordeuxes, Tibetan Mastiffs (sooo gorgeous!!), shiloh sheperds ( loved them!), newfies, bull dogs, russian something dogs (looks like big black mops lol), leopard dogs, australian shepherds, great prynese and so so so many more!!!

And they were set up so you could talk to the breeders, pet the dogs (which I am proud to admit I petted EVERY ONE OF THEM :D while BF gladly held my purse lol)  I had such a great time!

And I heard that this weekend there is a dog show on not too far away from me, and I am goiiing!

The condo bf and i went to see yesterday for sale was nice, but it was close to 200,000$ and quite frankly, if we are going to pay that much, we might as well just find a small house.  So i think we are going to look for a small house instead.  decisions decisions!!!

No, I promised a preggers friend that I would help her move this friday after work since she can't lift anything. Trust me, I'd rather do agility! If they have a fun event on a Sunday I will come. Fri evenings are hard though.

Now that the weather is getting warmer I'm starting to get more in to trying to train the dogs in agility and frisbee. I had soooo much fun yesterday with Neiko and the frisbee. I was beginning to think that he wouldn't make a good competition dog because he lacked so much focus but yesterday changed all that!

P.S. Yes, I think that Dakota is feeling better but I'm thinking that the steriods are making her edgy.

Pirate was a nut when he was on steroids. He was like a completely different dog *sigh*. I'm glad that's over! I hope Dakota adjusts. Her 'boyfriends' mom called before I left work this morning and he was coming for daycare today :)

Ugh, back to my gym routine this week. I skipped all last week since it was spring break and the rec center had weird hours, but I need to go back before summer hits here. We're going to spend a lot of the summer at the beach and I want to look good! I might have one of the trainers show me how to use the weights, but it's just so intimidating! All the guys are in that part of the gym, and they grunt and sweat and bang the weights - ugh. If I had more money I'd join my friend's gym. They have a no grunting rule, and if you're being obnoxious or dropping your weights, they buzz a little buzzer! ~L~

I'm really going to miss having a yard when we move. BF loves to garden, so he'll have to make do with some potted things. One of the big selling points of the lofts we looked at were that they had good sized patios.

More chatter from me - I have to go to Detroit twice this week. Hmmm maybe I'll stop by your place on my way home Ann...not sure which day though. I guess I should call the dog walking place and have them come Wed and Thurs. If I were smart I'd just spend the night down there but I'd have to find a place that'll take 3 dogs ;p

Ann I'm going to compete in that Waterford Oaks disc dog competition. I emailed the guy to see which frisbees we need to use. He doesn't say which rules we have to play by. Are you going to go? You should put Belle in the toss and fetch. She's pretty good at that.

Too bad I can't put a freestyle routine together by then but I think that Neiko and I are a ways away from that yet.

Hey that sounds like how Max jumped! She would get all geeked on the dock, you would think she would jump 30 feet. Then she would run FULL SPEED down the dock hit the end stop and plop into the pool! Her personal best is 6'6". Too funny! She is the Queen of the novice division.

Where was the event you went to? I am thinking it might be an Ontario Dock Dog thing, I want to look it up.

Sorry you will miss the fun match Julie. Actually I was hoping you could bring my basket to me that I won. Ann my friend with the border collie has it. Oh well. There might be another on 3/30 which is a Sunday. I will let you know if that one happens.

haha!!! yeah, there was a spaniel that did that!!  Ran sooo fast, stopped on the end, looked into the pool, then jumped lol.

It was at the Sportsmen Show  http://www.sportshows.ca/Toronto/  It was mostly for hunting, fishing, etc, but I went only for the dogs lol.

And this weekend, it will be this http://www.allaboutpetsshow.com/

:D  I had so so so much fun, I had heard about agility and all these things, but actually seeing it, I really want to do it!

We're spring cleaning like you wouldn't believe at my house. From the kitchen and the unfinished storage room in the basement, we're already taken about 20 bags of trash to dumpsters in other neighborhoods, because we are limited to a certain amount of trash. I took 6 bags to the dumpster by my sister's apartment yesterday. We're nowhere near done, because the kitchen is not done being cleaned, nor is the storage room, and the rest of the house hasn't been touched yet. Hopefully though, cleaning up these two rooms takes care of the mouse issue. In the process of cleaning out the kitchen cabinets, we found all sorts of places that we have no idea how they got in. I'm hoping to get the shelves out of the storage room, because we know that's where they're coming in from, and seal up wherever it is they're getting in from. I'd really love to know though how they get in the cabinet above the stove. I see how they could get in to the floor level cabinets, which will no longer hold any food items, but above the stove, where all the oils and vinegars were stored?

I also need to figure out some things I can cook with all the food we've got sitting around. I'm thinking I can get some cream of mushroom and chicken to put with the egg noodles we've got, and also do the same thing with some tuna. At least I'll eat that, my dad probably will, and my sister might while she's with us. I think I need to go to one of those websites that tells you what you can cook with what you already have sitting around in your pantry and figure some stuff out.

My mom is having surgery this afternoon. She has colon cancer. To make a long story short, after months of having a hacking cough, she finally went to get it checked out, and this is where she ended up. Hopefully it's just there, which the doctor seems pretty optimistic about, but we'll have to wait and see. Please keep your fingers and toes, and ask your furkids to cross their paws for her this afternoon.  People, do me a favor, and when you reach the age when you're supposed to get that checked out, please do. Yeah, it's gross to have a camera stuck up there, but I think that's relatively minor in comparison.

My co worker is under high risk for colon cancer, so she has to have a colonoscopy every year.  It is interestig how they found she is a risk though. She went to the eye doctor, and when they looked at her eye, they saw a "bear track" which looks like a bear's foot print on her eye, and that is an indication of risk of colon cancer

I hope the best for your mother, and a speedy recovery from the surgery!!

OOPS sorry about the double post folks. My computer every now and then doesn't post. I find if I click post a second time, I can copy what I intended, go out come back paste and post. This time it posted two times. I bad!

The events in Ontario look like fun. I wonder though if Dock Dogs has given up on our northern neighbors. I would have thought for sure that would be a regional event. I like Dock Dogs, but they make the sport a bit too political for me. It's all about having fun.

Hey Julie, depending on what else is happening, maybe we will come. I will talk to Kel about it a bit more this Friday. The last time Belle did a disc toss competition she would not go get it. Funny dog I am telling you. However that is before she went frisbee nuts on us so now she might, but we may have to use our disc. We plan to get Teddi a UAD and UKC dock jumping title this summer. We plan to go slow and easy, but I am not sure of the Petapalooza dates I just know it is in May.

Poor BF. I made him some eggs when he got up, but apparently I am an egg making failure. He said they were 'too fluffy' and that they tasted bad. Oh well, he can have cereal :)

Would that by any chance be Planet Fitness??  They have locations down in FL now, so I wouldn't be surprised.  I belonged to one up in NH as did my neighbor.  He asked me to spot him one day while he bench-pressed 385lbs- "only like 3-4 reps" he said.  On rep #6 he had to make a quick dodge while he dropped half the plates on the ground. (I warned him I couldn't possibly hold up that much weight!)  I prayed they wouldn't sound the buzzer on us!

I have Monday-itis.  I should be happy, but I am overtired... despite spending most of yesterday prone.  I feel sad - I miss my good friends.  I spent part of Saturday night, during the middle of a big BBQ party, hugging my fav horse just to feel a little better.  (sadface)

Oooo yeah it is! There was actually a commercial on the radio today that this week you could join for $10 a month, plus the annual fee. Hm. It's hard to justify spending $$ on a gym when I have the gym at UCF for free.
