Far too much attachment? And PUPPIES!

I have always known that Gossip was my soul mate. I love that dog more than words can describe. She is the example of best friend. In fact, I forget she is a dog from time to time, especially when I talk about her.
So anyway, Gossip is down in Southern California being bred. She has been gone for two weeks and I can not even begin to tell you how much I miss that damn dog. Is there something wrong with me that I have THIS much love and attachment to her? Has anyone else had that one dog that they are more attached to than anyone. A true "soulmate"?
On the flip side, we are hoping for puppies! It has been 18 months since we have had a litter at the house and I certainly am getting the puppy itches! She is due early May, so I will certainly keep everyone updated. Keep fingers crossed for a nice, healthy litter!

Well, I start to miss Willow if I'm at work too many hours so I guess I think you are completel normal!

Is she going to be a first time mom??

I remember Gossip having puppies before, I think. We got pretty regular pictures.

And... ummm... My dog just spent a week in KY with me and will be flying back home with me (in the cabin) tomorrow.  I missed her, today, because I went to the library for an hour. I won't call myself "normal" but I won't call you "weird", either:)

Ok, as long as I am not alone! My fiancee thinks I am weird because I love that dog so much. In fact, he is always telling me I love her more than him!
No, this will be Gossip's 2nd litter. She is the mother of my girl, Gia.

I don't think you're crazy at all.  It's only natural to miss someone that you spend so much time with!  I missed Honor and my rabbits when they stayed with my mom for a few days last month (if it makes you feel better). Smile

And I can't wait to see pictures of puppies!!!!

Actually now that I look at it, Gossip and Gia are the two dogs to the right in my sig pic. That describes their relationship perfectly. She obviously knows thats her daughter and treats her like a daughter. They play and cuddle constantly and when Gia gets to be too much, Gossip lets her know. She treats that dog differently than the rest of the pack.

    Congrats on the puppies-to-be....

    Talus is my heart dog...
I miss him when I'm at work and can't wait to see him when I get home....
    I think it's perfectly normal....Smile

I forget that Cheyanne is a dog alot of the times too. She is so well behaved and independent but still has that occasional "I need some attention." She is the first dog I've owned. She has been a great first dog. I think of her as my best friend because she has always been there for me when no one else has.

And I cant wait for puppies!!! Especially beagle puppies. Their so adorable.

Psh if you are too attached then I've got serious issues...

The longest I've ever been away from Kayla was for 24 hours. I left her with my Mom while BF & I went down to Miami for a DAY!

I CRIED SO HARD WHEN WE WERE LEAVING! I could not take the thought of being away from my "baby." I also began to cry on our way back home because I was so eager to see her and missed her to much.

That dog goes with me EVERYWHERE... I sit here at my first job (my office job) and I squirm around and I'm anxious for lunch time to go home and see her.... trust me you are not alone in MISSING a dog... I miss my dog constantly. That's why I'm so glad that my second job allows me to bring in my dog on certain training days.

I have two Pomeranian calendars, a framed photo of Kayla (picture of the first day I got her), computer background picture of Kayla, and a slide show screen saver of Kayla...

    Yes I am obsessed... lol

LOL, I've never 'heard' anyone else say Beagle-it.  I call Dusty a Beagle-it all the time.

    Alrighty check in time,

Any first gut instincts, or inklings on if she took? Ya know I am living vicariously here LOL.

Geeez, I miss our dogs if we can't even take them with us somewhere, like if it's too cold or too hot. We take them everywhere with us, and I take them everywhere with me, so I can't imagine being away from them for a period of time. They are like our children now that the kids are gone.

OMG I think about my dogs constantly when I'm away from them. I wish I could take them everywhere I go, but I refuse to leave them in the car, even when it's cool outside and most places won't let you bring them in. I'm going to Virginia at the end of April and they will be home with my 22 y.o. daughter for 4 days - I'm already having anxiety over it. Courtney loves them, but no one takes care of them the way I do!!!

I'm having the same issue. I'm going to Maryland in the middle of April for 5 days, Cherokee's staying with my Mom, and I'm about to start having panic attacks about it, LOL. I'm worried she's going to get depressed and stop eating (she's done that before), get a little bit itchy and rip her skin apart (done that too), try to eat someone...you know..normal stuff. Big Smile I wish I could shrink her long enough for her to be able to ride in the plane with me. Maybe I could pass her off as a service dog? You know..the snarling barking kind..personal bodyguard dog. Stick out tongue
