again not sure why you seem so put out, that some women here are not as angry as you are about the subject.

Why women aren't angry or upset about this is really have me baffled.  It is something that demeans women and reduces them to object status.  Isn't that what women have been fighting against for years.  This is an industry that breeds other crime and reduces the morality of the community. Look at the historical examples.  I just believe that we can be a better society.

Hey, I have no problem with MALE escorts either.  It's high time this was legalized so that the criminal element was removed from the enitre transaction.

I think it would be more accurate to say other crimes, drugs, for example, breed prostitution.  So, if we want to solve the problem, legalize prostitution and take away the means for addicts to support their habit.

Prostitution involves no explotation in my mind.  Sexual "going ons"  between consenting adults is none of the government's business.  To me, the idea that a legal act becomes illegal just because money is exchanged is ludicrous.

I heard someone on the radio mention prostitution as the crime with no victim.

I would have to disagree. I wonder what this guy’s wife and kids think about that. Seems to me they are victims, forced to endure public humiliation. Can you imagine what school will be like for his daughters? What kind of crap will have to listen to over the next several months?

And although these are high dollar hookers there is still the risk of STD's. What gives him the right to expose his wife to this risk? Is she not a victim?

I will tell you one thing; if this were my husband he would most likely be missing the offending appendage shortly after the press conference. For the sake of the state I would stand next to him and then I would cut the darn thing off and flush it down the toilet. I have no problem with what two consenting adults wish to do; my problem comes in when the innocent are ridiculed for the antics of their adult consenting father. Also it is not just the fact that he went to a prostitute but it is more about he himself went after prostitution rings as a prosecutor and yet here he is using one. Also a government official of his standing opens himself up to blackmail when he partakes of such services. What might he sell in order to keep this information from his wife and kids? Anyway enough of my venting, the guy is a moron. I sympathize with his wife and kids.

In all honesty, I do too. I've made light of the issue on this thread, but yes, I seriously feel for his family. It's hard to imagine what goes thru someone's mind when they make a choice like this. Did he honestly think that no one would ever find out?  Didn't he consider how hypocritical he would look?  I'd guess he's having deep regrets for his decision now and he should, but truly the innocent victims are his wife and children.

The guy's a scumbag for cheating on his wife. Whether he did it with a prostitute or his secretary. Prostitution didn't create victims. The man who made the promises and then broke them is fully responsible for making his wife and kids victims.

That's my problem with the whole thing. The hypocrisy is pretty insane!

FIC 100%, no 1000% dead on...the victims are victims regardless if he pays....or not. The STD risk is there whether he pays, or not.
