How dumb can a politician get?

OK, let me get this straight.  We have the women on this thread musing about relative value of prostituting oneself for $3,000/hr. Good Deal? Bad Deal? ... and we have the men taking the "exploitation" stance. Huh?

    lol, seeeeriously!

Honestly though, I think you'd have to be pretty darn gorgeous, probably surgically enhanced, and most likely quite well educated (in various arts) to fetch a sum like that. These wouldn't be the kind of "female escorts" who would be standing on a street corner bartering drugs for services, if I were to hazard a guess. A different "class" of operation, in more ways than one, I would imagine.

    Reminds me of a joke.

I man walks into a bar and starts chatting with a woman.  He asks her if she would go to bed with him if he gave her 2 million dollars.  She said if you gave me that much money sure.  Well then he asks her if she would do it for 50 dollars.  She looked at him disgustingly and tells him "what kind of girl do you think I am?" to which he replies "I thought we already established that, we were only negotiating the price!"

Bottom line is, it is what it is.  Price is not the defining point!!!

I am another of the "why is it illegal" group.  I was telling someone at work the other day I SHOULD have been a high class call girl.  I USED to have the figure for it and I looove the "line of work", so I should have done this instead of working in a library! You should have SEEN the looks I got! WinkBig Smile I would be retired by now and would be driving a Bentley instead of and eleven year old Intrepid! ROFLLLL

I always laugh hysterically at the politicians/religious nuts that get caught this way. They are  ALWAYS the ones who are the "holier than thou" types.

Prostitution involves no explotation in my mind.  Sexual "going ons"  between consenting adults is none of the government's business.  To me, the idea that a legal act becomes illegal just because money is exchanged is ludicrous.

Seriously. I wish one of them would just man up one day and say something in the line of, "Yep, I hired an expensive escort. We were both health checked and extensively interviewed beforehand, and my wife gave me the go-ahead. I thoroughly enjoyed our time together, and next time, my wife's coming too!" Big Smile

Morally, I'm a "live and let live, and try to keep everyone safe as best you can" kind of girl. Whatever floats your boat and doesn't hurt the people around you is a-okay by me. Yes

Yeah, but would you stand by your man at the press conference?  :)

I certainly hope so! (As long as he'd gotten my permission first, of course. Wink)

Only if he'd been paying me more than he was paying her Wink

Why should he be required to get your permission first.  After all it is a transaction that doesn't concern you at all.  Do you always ask your husbands permission before doing anything that you might want to do.

when wedding vows are being re-negotiatedand/or amended? Yeah you need permisssion or to talk about it first...sorry Steve.

How does this have anything to do with the wedding vows.  After all it is only a business transaction.  Not anything like getting an emotional attachment to another person.  Think of it as a very specific type of massage.

    I'm guessing you're being a bit tongue-in-cheek here?

As I said before, whatever folks want to do, as long as it's not hurting anyone else, is fine with me. My Significant Other having intimate relations with someone else without first talking to me about it would be extremely hurtful, and vice versa I'm sure. But if the wife didn't mind, the husband didn't mind, and the escort didn't mind, I don't see the harm in it (aside from the pesky legality issues Wink).

My vows addressed faithfulness....but not obeying...clever of me eh?

DH and I have an agreement that we always discuss large financial expenditures with each other. I mean, what if I'd planned to used that $3-4K to buy new appliances or get liposuction done?
