I SO know what you mean. Sofia will sometimes flop over my lap when I'm in bed, but it's a stiff, rub-my-tummy thing, not a cuddly thing. She's not a cuddle dog, she's not even all dog, you know? She's special, she's gorgeous, she's brilliant and she's dog-not-a-dog. It's one reason I miss Stevie the rottie/dobie SO MUCH. He was SUCH a cuddler, all 75 lbs of him! We'd sleep back to back all night, he could form himself to fit right against my back. Meanwhile, Sofia has prickly porcupine/coyote hair......and she won't sleep on the bed but rarely.
Enter Ole. He follows me everywhere. If I get up to pee at 2am he follows me to the bathroom and guards the door. Right now as I type I have to watch that I don't put my feet on his head! He cuddles, he's a mushball and a noodle. Yep folks, Elkhounds might be a northern breed but they are major cuddlers! df
edited to add: And Elkhounds are only 50 lbs, max!
