Is that how people choose which candidate to support? By who else supports them? Because I like to vote for someone whose platform I agree with, not because someone else supports them. Interesting reason to pick a candidate, though...

Couldn't have said it better. I know some people have said that he just isn't ready - but he couldn't possibly be any less ready to run the country than our current leader was - and still is.

I just heard that he may choose Richardson for his running mate. That would be a REALLY smart move as Bill R has a LOT of experience and this move just may be enough to pull me away from Ron Paul...

That would be totally cool.  I love Bill Richardson and I would have voted for him in a heartbeat if he had made it this far.

You know what I have to say about that first picture in the post above me? Good for Barack Hussein Obama. Good for him for embracing other cultures. For not shying away from something that is NOT SHAMEFUL, for not being fearful of how people like these would interpret his acceptance of the customs of the people with whom he is visiting. Good for Barack Hussein Obama for reaching out to those in Africa, for visiting the continent, the country of Kenya, now suffering from civil war, for not forgetting an entire continent.

I cannot stand this "B. Hussein" business, people being ridiculed for their religious beliefs, or those that the public believes to be religious beliefs. It saddens and sickens me, it really does.

 That is what they are saying. I am a conservative and a republican (mostly) and I cannot see what the problem is with the photo. It does not bother me in the least. I am sure many officials have worn some sort of traditional dress at various state functions in other countries. Were they trying to make people think he is Muslim or that his allegiance is somehow to Africa?

Nope.  You're neither blind nor stupid.  The pic just represents a man showing respect for another culture while he's visiting another country.  If he had gone to Mexico and had a picture taken wearing a sombrero and a serape would anyone be making an issue out of that?

No.  You are smart and well able to think for yourself and sort through the BS.

DH (who is politically savvy, while I just have strong opinions) tells me that if I were to choose a party I would be considered a "true conservative". What a conservative used to be or what they originally were. I always align with "Libertarian" on those political tests. But I believe we are in special times and require a drastic change in the status quo. I believe Obama would bring more change than any other viable candidate (aside from Ron Paul) so that's who I'd vote for. If there was a chance Paul could win, I'd vote for him and still may... We'll see.

But I don't need any more of a reason to vote for Obama. If what his daddy named him, an outfit he tried on and the fact that he doesn't always make a public display of his patriotism are all his detractors can find to hold against him, I think that says something wonderfully positive about him. We need a hero to sort this mess out and hopefully one of these guys can at least help.
