    Changing a Dog's Name (aDork)

I've been considering changing Misha's name so that it's officially "Mister Misha" but all his records (microchip, rabies, vet info) is just under Misha. How hard is it to get changed, and is it even really worth it?

I changed both of my dog's names.  Kenya's registered name cannot be changed, but that doesn't really matter.  The only real consequence was Kenya's original tags are engraved "Chopper".  On her rabies certificate, I whited out her call name Chopper and changed it to Kenya.  She didn't see a vet with me until after I changed her name (she got her shots the day I picked her up so we didn't have to go for a while).  Coke's rescue name was Teddy, so all that paperwork says Teddy.  I've never really thought about having to change the paperwork.  We just call him Coke and to our vets he's always been Coke.

I don't think it would be hard for the vet to change the name in the database.  My friend had a cat she took forever to name and when her dad made the first vet appt. he had them put "Hacksaw" on the paperwork.  The cat was called Peanut.

Is he registered? If not, I guess i just think it's kind of a lot of trouble to add mister to stuff that doesn't really matter, but that's just me.

He's not registered. I had planned on putting his full name down when I got his microchip (Misha Ma Belle) but because his vet stuff was just in Misha that's all I put down. I guess I just want everything to have the same name so if something were to happen to him it wouldn't be confusing. But, I'm really not for paying to get his microchip info changed. I think the vet would be easy enough.
