I switched from Frontline to K-9 Advantix with Stitches the summer I first got her. I lived in an apartment complex and was using Frontline Plus because my husband said that they had always had really good luck with that on their dogs. However, many other dogs also lived in the apartment complex and she ended up getting fleas on the Frontline Plus. I kept using it for about a month more and then at her annual vet appointment I told her vet and he recommended K-9 Advantix. So far it has worked great with no problems for her. She's been on it for almost three years.
Right now Quincy is on Frontline Plus because the vet I took him to Saturday only had that and since he had been given a Capstar since he had fleas that day, I wanted to make sure I used something for flea prevention on him as soon as I could since he is smaller then Stitches and I couldn't have used her K-9 Advantix that night.
If you are heavily infested with fleas and live somewhere like an apartment complex, I would recommend K-9 Advantix based on Stitches' experience.
Having said that, though, if the Frontline Plus is working on your dog, I would probably stick with that. I'm always afraid of trying a new product like flea/tick or heartworm prevention if the old one is working in case of a reaction or it not working as well. Fleas are a pain in the rear to get out of your house or apartment once they are in there.
