Mindless Chatter - Tues

    Mindless Chatter - Tues

Well, it's back to work for me today after having 5 days off. I'm not looking forward to what will be on my desk.

I'm all stuffed up this morning - stupid weather. COME ON SPRING!!!!

I would just like to go to Hawaii or something for the rest of winter.

I think that the bears have the right idea.  Just crawl in a comfy space and sleep until winter goes away.

It's snowing here AGAIN.  I can't see anything but white again.  I'm tired of snow.  I'm tired of cold.

The good news is that the ice on top of the snow is so thick that I didn't sink into any snow drifts yesterday walking with the dogs.  The bad news is that it's slippery and I would have done better with ice skates than boots.

We got seven inches overnight and it's still falling fast and furious.

I've heard that the snow has been unreal up north this year. My G-ma says that there's no place left to pile it!

Unfortunately, it is ALL too real!  Where is G-ma?  We are right at the edge of the blasted snow belt, and we get buried every single time.  It's getting really bad with getting mail delivery.  I go out every single day and undo the damage that the snow plow has done in blocking access to the mailbox, but it's pretty iffy whether or not he'll come back and bury it again before the gal gets here with the mail.  Three days last week we didn't get mail because of the snow.  And I'm watching....our little road and mail box seem to be the only ones that get so well buried.  I'm wondering if the plow guy for the county gets a daily chuckle out of burying us!

She's in Lewiston, which is SE of Gaylord. So, she's outside of the snow belt but they have still been getting hammered with snow.

It looks like I have to come to TC to do a site visit within the next couple of weeks. I'm trying to figure out a day that you guys won't be getting 10 ' of snow ;p

I know right where it is. DS covers the Weirhauser plants in Grayling and in Lewiston.

All I can say is good luck finding a day when we aren't getting socked.  Maybe May or June???

I am SICK of the snow and ice.  I slipped yesterday on it, but caught myself, today I am really wishing I would have just let myself fall.  My lower back hurts sooooo bad, even to the point that if i look down with my chin near my chest bone, it hurts!

I am sooo sick and I can't take the day off.  Nothing too horrific, just a really bad head cold.  I feel like a bad momma, because to be honest, I came to work because I will be more likely to get some peace and quiet here than at home.  Riley has been a complete cling monster ever since we got back from vacation and I can't get a moments rest.  I am locked up tight in my office with a warning sign on my door.

Riley has not been sleeping through the night lately and it's just draining the life out of me.  I have no idea how I am ever going to wean her off of breastfeeding when the time comes.  DH can't even pick her up at night because all she tries to do is lift up his shirt.  I love BF, but I am so exhausted.

Hope you're feeling better! Being sick is definitely no fun,a nd I'd imagine it's tenfold with a little one.

I'm in the cruddiest mood of the century today. I had to drop DH off on base this morning for their 6 month deployment to the Middle East. This will be our last one(thank God), so it was bittersweet, but it doesn't make this any easier. Being a military wife is really no fun sometimes, but I knew what I was getting into, and DH is worth it (most of the time Wink). I'm just hoping that it goes by fast...

Just reading about all of the cold and ice and snow makes me glad I don't live that far up north.  I have had enough of the cold and I live in GA.  Just took my dogs for a walk and although it is breezy, no jacket or sweater was needed.  I do wish I lived a little further up north (maybe NC), but never way up where you are--I know I couldn't take it.  Take care of yourselves!

Ugh...I'm tired.  I thought I was gonna get to take a nap yesterday...to make up for going to sleep at 1 am the night before.  No such luck.  On my way home DH's cousin called and invited me to come see their apartment.  The is his first place so he and his girlfriend were really excited and I didn't want to disappoint by not going.  I went over after DH left for work and had dinner with them and played some cards.  I had a really good time, but didn't get to go to bed till 11:30.  There apartment is the upstairs 1/4 of a house.  It's one bedroom.  They are the 1st tennants since the new owner bought the place and remodelled it.  It's really cute and in a nice location.  As a matter of fact I'm jealous :o).  I hate where I live but I can't find anywhere else that will let me have all the dogs, so I'm stuck.  Hindsight being 20/20 I should have planned ahead before I got all the dogs, but now I wouldn't trade any of them for the world.

Well, my trip into town was just ten kinds of fun.  But, not so much.  I needed CELERY of all things.  I always have celery chopped and frozen, but noooooo, when I have my tastebuds all set for homemade soup and need celery for it, the freezer is bare of any celery.  I'm sure it's in there someplace....where would be anyones guess though.  I dug and took stuff out, and looked and looked, and no such luck.  And, until I started having skin pull off my hands I didn't have gloves on, so froze my butt for nothing.  My poor hands too!  Three different spots where I bumped something, the skin stayed when I took my hand away.  Yeeeouch!

So, after a lovely trip into town, my soup is simmering away, smelling absolutely devine.  The bread dough is rising for homemade Italian to go with the soup (kind of a beef veggie w mini farfalle and anything else I decide to throw into the pot later)

And for a weather update.....the snow stopped and the sun came out and everything was stunningly beautiful.  Then it started snowing again, full sun and all....then the snow went away and it's snowing in earnest again.  YeeeHaw!  SOMEBODY MAKE IT GO AWAYYYYYY!  PLEASE!

Ms. Mandy, that stinks about your husband. I hope he's home safely and soon!

I think everyone has the sickies. Boo. I hope I don't get it!

I was trying to bring one of the dogs at daycare inside from the outdoor yard, but she kept running away when I got near her, so I wheeled around to run the opposite way to try to get her to 'chase' me and I tripped over another dog and twisted my ankle. I also landed right on my butt in the mud *argh!* It was funny though, because when I was sitting on the cold wet mud, the dog I tripped over came up to me and snuffled my face like, 'hey, whattareya doin down here?!' So I decided to laugh instead of cry.

Anyone else ready for Spring Break? I think all of the professors get together and decide which week they ALL will have their tests.

MY COMPUTER WILL NOT STOP BUZZING!!!!

And it's driving me nuts. It sounds like one of the fans died. The problem is, I start a new job next week - so what's the point of calling our computer people? I'll be getting a new computer anyway. So in the mean time I have to listen to this annoying buzzing sound! I just keep kicking it and hoping that it'll go away. That hasn't worked yet though.

I'm in deep thought atm. I'm working on pulling some info together for some politician that told us on friday at 3pm that he needed it by 5 that day. HA. Some people live in a dream world. It's a huge under taking and I'm just thinking about how I'm to make it happen.....hmmm..... so while I think, I'll surf idog for ideas...

That's funny b/c this morning my laptop was making this horrific high pitched buzz.  It wasn't very loud, but so annoying!  I finally figured out it was b/c my power adapter wasn't pushed all the way in.  My work desktop made horrible noises from the fan so I finally took it into the Shop and blew it out with our super deluxe air compressor (it puts those cans of compressed air to shame).  Now I am working in peace...
