I know there are at least 4 or 5 of us here who are engaged
and at least 1 with a family member soon to be married … Ms. Cathy ;) so I thought I would pass on this great find
I came across today.
We have been struggling with what to do with our wedding
invitations. We are cutting costs
wherever we can and it seems insane to me to spend between $250-$500 for 50 invitations. We decided to order through a friend of the family
in order to save costs, but since we are hand making everything else for our
wedding, we thought we would give the invitations a try.
Every time I looked at the invitation kits I was under
whelmed with both the styles available and the quality. SO I put this option
out of my mind. Today when the future Dh and I were at Michaels store looking
at Vellum samples for the invitations I came across some invitation kits I saw
in last months issue of Brides Magazine. The styles in the magazine were great,
but none were the right style and colors for us…. Until I saw the ones in the store.
I really love the ones I found and the colors of the chocolate
brown and ivory with the vine style that looks vintage is PERFECT. I can customize them enough I think to incorporate
the hand drawn ships my stepdad made for our invitations and scanned into the computer
(he also drew the ship on his invitations 30 years ago when he married my mom,
so these were really special to me to be able to use). I can also add in some vellum and some taupe
colored ribbon or paper to utilize even more of our wedding colors. The style was classy, quality is very good and
the best part is that each kit only costs $35.
It just so happened with today being Presidents day sales, I was able to
scrounge up two 50% coupons and so we bought ALL of our wedding invitations for
only $35.
I am ecstatic! The program
this company uses also seems easy.
So even if your wedding isn’t for another couple years and
you don’t ever even plan to make your own invitations, save this link anyway
just in case. Besides, they also have “save the date cards” and all sorts of
other things that I am sure are also high quality. You really can’t beat some of their styles.
Here is the link… oh, and the one I got is the one displayed
at the top, center under “new brides wedding collection”. My favorite part I think about it is that
cute little pocket on the left side that you tuck your RSVP cards and direction
cards, etc. into.
ETA- I can only comment on the quality of their BRIDES MAGAZINE products. the other ones may or may not be as nice, but all the "brides" ones from Michaels, were very high quality
ETA #2- almost forgot that most of the BRIDES styles also have boxes of Thank Yous in the same style... again for very cheap. i only need 1 box and it will cost me $10, plus i can probably scrounge another 50% of coupon.
