Great News II - the UPDATE

Two pics were sent. One is her first and only nude pic on the scale-tronix at the hospital. This is the other one. She has a full head of dark hair. Momma's got light brown hair and Daddy's got black hair and he always reminds me somewhat of Sean Connery and could easily pass for a relative.

    Anyway, here's Malia.

Oh she is so precious!  You will love being a Grampa...our first is now 14 months, and we are awaiting number 2 and 3.  Such a joy they bring into our lives...without the responsibility!  And it's so cool to watch your child being a parent!

This has meant the world to DW. DW had to give up her daughter for adoption at birth. It was a different world then. And when the child was born, others decided this for her. Unwed ladies in south Texas in the 70's did not have children.

1995, her daughter found her through the Edna Gladney adoption home in Ft. Worth, Texas. DW's daughter was born in Ft. Worth. Adopted after birth, she was raised by her adoptive family in Princeton, New Jersey. In 2000, she, her adoptive mother and sister and brother came down to see DW and I get married. Daughter was Maid of Honor. 2005, we flew to Princeton, New Jersey to see daughter and her husband get married.

And now, in a few months, we will fly them down to Houston (nearest big airport) and pick them up from there to visit DW's parents.

Now that is even more wonderful... a whole network of family bound by blood and love....well done folks, well done.

DW looked up the name in a baby name book. Malia is hawaiian and means "Star of the Sea."

Wow, Ron!  Congratulations!!  In all the years we've chatted on here I've had a lot of images of you in my mind with your truck, once long hair and Shadow.  But, never pictured a Grandpa, LOL!!
