We bought Ben a new bed....OOOOPS!

We bought Ben a new bed....OOOOPS!

We were out shopping for something else...passed a tiny little pet store.  I of course can't pass up going inside, and they were having a sale on dog beds.  Most of which were too small, by far.  I spot one that looks to be a good size and say to DH "ooh, that one looks nice!  We should get Ben a new bed since he doesn't chew stuff much anymore."  Until now, Ben's had one of those plastic ones with several fluffy blankets in it to make it comfy because, as I say, he used to chew things and rip the stuffing out of other beds.

A good size...I guess my spatial perception is a little off.  Please bear in mind that Ben is an *almost* 70 lb Lab.

On the bright side, it looks so comfy *I* would sleep in it...the cushion in the bottom is a good 8-10 inches thick, and it only cost...*does quick mental math* about $40!  I bought him a pig's ear so that he'd go in it and learn to love it...and after demolishing the ear in about 5 minutes he stayed in there for another 2 hours, and went right back in for a nap after a run in the park.  Guess he approves of the gigantic bed!

Oh my, Ben, You are one lucky dog! And that bed matches you perfectly!

hahahahahaha "good size" indeed... it'll house your Great Dane, Weim and Ben! LOL LUCKY BOY, BEN!  Got yourself your own digs! lol

And he matches it too... very nice, Logan is jealous. Although Nikki would immediately get into it and not let him on it.... Logan is also jealous you're an only child! lol

I see no problem with the size.  There's plenty of room in there for you, Ben AND DH. ~LOL~

LMAO yes, yes....in my own defense I was starving and crabby...maybe a little delirious with hunger.  I definitely misjudged the size, but from the contentedly sleeping look on Ben's face right now, I think he's forgiven me LOL.

Annie... I actually DID get in there for a snuggle with him earlier...LOL!

I can’t believe you got that for $40.  My two each have a round bed like that that doesn’t have nearly the cushion on the bottom that that one has and they cost $80 each. We opted for those as the upstairs beds as a “cheaper option” because their downstairs square, bingo box beds cost $120 each.  I say you scored big time and so did Ben and don’t be surprised if he rests more frequently now.  Mine don’t like to leave theirs.

I know, it was a great deal!  The big chain pet store near me sells tiny chi-sized beds for that price.  I think this one was about 50% off, but I didn't see the original price tag so I can't be sure...this little pet store is totally out of the way (tucked into a corner of a shopping mall) but I might be going there more often!  I think you might be right about Ben resting more, he hasn't wanted to leave it since we brought it home....can't say I blame him, it looks comfier than my bed!

    Look how HAPPY he looks!

That bed looks VERY comfy, I'm jealous haha. He sure doesn't look like he minds the size lol Big Smile

That's his goofy "wow, lookit what I got!" face....he gets that if you give him anything really good.

He really LOVES this bed....he's usually a restless sleeper when we're up and about...always has been.  He'll wake up at loud noises/voices and look around to see what that was....not today.  He's been sacked out in that thing for ages, grunting with contentment occasionally.

I don't care if it is about 2 sizes too big....and I am an idiot for CHOOSING a bed 2 sizes 2 big... and it takes up a large portion of my living room.  He clearly adores his "new digs" (LOL Lani)....the ginormous bed stays lol.

LOL...ask and ye shall receive, Annie...

ETA:  I am curled up, but my feet are NOT sticking over the edge! LOL!

I was going to say. That bed is big enough that if your DH does something wrong and you want to send him to the dog house and it's too cold outside, he can go to the dog bed, with room to spare.
