Crying  I don't have cable. I'd love to watch it. The whole darn thing.

Is there any way to see which specific dogs are entered?

    • Gold Top Dog

You can see who is invited but will not know who entered until after the breed judging has occurred.  Has to do with keeping the catalog information out of the glance/gaze of the judges.  It is an issue of fair play etc.  The westminster website usually posts quite fast. There are multiple links provided.  As per usual belgians have titles after their names, even if they arent listed... There are obedience, rally and agility titles missing on a couple of dogs.

http://www.infodog.com/misc/west/breed.htm - here are the top 5 dog to get invited (in each breed), I'm not sure if they are attending, but so far it's the only thing I could find.

    • Gold Top Dog

    Ah, infodog, of course!  Thanks

I'm pleased that one of the Chows invited has its RN titleSmile

Monty was #2 for 13+ Beagles!?  WOW How very cool!  I'm sorry that you won't be going lcbryson.  That must be tough for you guys :(  Too bad they didn't have a different judge for ya.  Congratulations all the same.

Infiniti, Thank you for thinking of Logan and I! I was super excited when Marge took group!  I do have high hopes for Ch Pikespeak Annie Get Your Gun (related to Logan) ... but, if not whoever takes BOB for Weim, I hope goes far.  I want to see how they handle their dogs as much as I can! lol

And thank God for Infodog! hahahaha :) I wish they had the complete list, though.

Thanks! I cant tell you how hard it was, my first big special, first top ranked dog... but we had to make the best decision for the dog and our client, and honestly, I would rather have him sitting on the couch with me begging for Thai food, watching it on TV, then deal with the stress of flying him (which he HATES!) and being benched and all the people, to not be considered.

I dont think I know Annie Get Your Gun, but I have seen Marge in person and MAN she is a nice girl. She has so much grace and presence. Just so elegant!

Anyone else have a vested interest in watching Westminster on Monday/Tuesday?  Any friends, family, or dogs of interest that you will be watching??

A friend of mine will be taking her male this year, and also the half brother to the bitch in my siggy was invited :) So I'm keeping my paws crossed that he kicks butt at Westminster! lol
BTW, Lindsay, that stinks about your male not being considered by that particular judge :(  But congrats on the honor of being invited anyway!!!

We have such fine Beagle representation on this board!!

    • Puppy
I will be watching also - it is always fun to see the magnificent examples of each breed - I will especially be watching the Cardigans and Pems - my dog's relation is going as the #1 Pembroke Welsh Corgi - Triple H Midnite Rumble - his owner is great - very supposrtive of those she places puppies with and I wish them the best!

TOTALLY understandable.  I went last year for the first time and was astonished at how hot and crowded and stressful that benching environment is at Westminster!  Seeing Jaime's Markie doing so beautifully and staying calm and relaxed showed me that he is an "old pro" at this - he was great.

Meanwhile, a little early good news - BUGSY TOOK BEST OF OPPOSITE SEX for his variety.  http://www.westminsterkennelclub.org/2008/results/breed/bullterw.html I am so happy for them!!  Ch Action Chaos and Charisma is just so special that she was expected to win.  So for Bugsy to get Best of Opposite Sex to her was great.

Lindsay, turns out it was a great choice to keep Monty at home, but what a great day for Beagles everywhere! :o)  Congratulations for making 2nd, an accomplishment that very few can brag about.  Hope that thai food was tasty and congratulations for your entire breed!

I'm just glad Marge (the weim) made it to the BIS ring so I could admire her and watch her and her handler work together one more time.

Good job to all the breeds, what a fun show!
