Where would you live (mrstjohnson)

I'd live in San Diego. I love it down there! The weather is perfect, I love the ocean, and it's still California which will always be home for me. Unfortunately, it's much pricier than this area, so the odds of moving there are slim.

*** raises  hand ***  Me too!  There are so many houses in foreclosure down there, I'm thinking there are probably some good deals to be had if you've got a sharp realtor working for you.

If I could live anywhere... I would move to Edmonton so I could be closer to the West Edmonton Mall Stick out tongue

When I say realistically I mean no picking some tropical island in the middle of no where...

Darn, because that was going to be my answer. Stick out tongue

I really like where we're living now. I used to really like winter, but now summer is my favorite. So maybe somewhere where the winters are a little bit shorter. I like having four seasons, lots of forests and lakes, not a lot of people. My second choice would be Colorado (I lived there for a few years when I went to college.) But all my family is in this area.

I think I'd move to Toronto. I just really liked it there both times I went. Maybe I will, depending on who the next president is.

I'm going to second that one Gina, the right here part.  (Though Germany is beautiful!)  I've traveled a little so I've seen some really beautiful places but this just feels like home and you can't recreate that.  Texas - geographically speaking - is truely like it's own little country and you can experience just about anything you wish for.  The Hill Country is amazing, I love how green the Piney Woods area is (East Texas), Austin is just the empitome of cool, and the coast is there if you are craving some ocean.

Now if you're talking a vacation home, well, that's different!  Italian countryside (Tuscany maybe), Virgin Islands somewhere, Blue Ridge mountains, English countryside cottage...

I really want to move to Georgia.  DH said we could if I want.  All my family (that I associate with, ahem) and his are here, and I just started a job using my degree, and our credit isn't good enough to buy a house right now, and I wouldn't even know how to find a place to rent down there w/ all our dogs.....so for awhile we'll just stay here....but maybe in the future.......

I've been toying with the idea of New York City. I miss winters, and I'm over the suburbia life. I could teach school there, and there are lots of dog runs for Pirate and I.

I really love Savannah. Or at least, I will... once my crazy grandmother dies.

But, seriously, anywhere? Northwest England, probably in the Greater Manchester area. I was looking at going to Salford for school, but I'm pretty much open to anywhere in England *except London*.

This would be an awesome time to be house hunting BUT the downside is that we'd have to sell our house to do that and we'd take a beating if we sold in this market. Sad

Ideally, I'd love to be in the Vancouver, BC area. And the good thing is -- we're moving in May! I've always dreamed of living near trees & mountains & sandy beaches.

The prairies just aren't satisfying me. So once I've got my degree - I'm outta here! Party!!!

That's my Million Dollar Question. I'm realizing now that I don't HATE Southern California..but I do hate Orange County. Too populated, TOO DARN EXPENSIVE.. I'm here because of my family. My Mom, two of my three sisters, brother-in-law, nephew..plus my cousin and her kids.. Mainly my issue is the kids. I'm extremely close to my cousin's 4 1/2 year old, I've been her nanny since she was 2 months old. I'll be her baby brother's too starting in March... I adore my 2 1/2 year old nephew..and his mother is the sister I'm closest to, so that makes it extra hard...

If I had to move from here tomorrow, I'd go back to Annapolis Maryland. I grew up there and miss it like crazy. I'd love to move closer to my best friend who's in Massachusetts now, but that's really the only reason I'd move to that region... I think I'd like to live in Austin, TX for a bit, and Oregon calls my name quite loudly.. Northern California would be fun... But I don't know if I can create more homes for myself. I already have an extremely hard time being torn between just two places..I can't imagine getting attached to anywhere else.

So I think the only places I could imagine moving any time soon are just outside of Orange county, an hour or two from here..or Annapolis. Oh so exotic....

Hmmmm I used to think only Ireland, San Diego, or Seattle. Now that I'm actually going all over, there are lots of cool places I think I'd love. I'm open to wherever the wind blows me!

You should move to Toronto!    I've lived in so many different cities in several different countries and this is one of my favourites.

I'd stay right here.  NW Ontario, Canada.  Well actually out of city limits since I'm still in them, but once I finish this place and sell it I'm moving to somewhere with a few acres where I can build my house.  I couldn't deal with no winter.  I thrive on winter.   And I need snow, real snow not the crusty stuff we got the year I was on the island(Vancouver Island, BC).  Give me frozen lakes, bonfires, dog sledding, and some great snow gear and I'm happy.

I would however like the ability to go someplace with a great beach once in a while, and I'd love to have a house on the island for a month or so every summer.  If I had to move to the States, I'd be bunking with Jeano.

     I love where I live.

Other places would be:  Somewhere similar to Alaska in Canada. Nova Scotia for the fiddling. Scotland. I still love New Mexico and will probably live there part time when I get old and creaky.
