Need advice on adding a puppy

Well hubby and I went to see some corgi puppies last night there are 2 available.
I female tri, 1 red and white male. Both are soooooo sweet they are 5 weeks old so we cant bring one home until they are 9 weeks.
    Heres my questions...
Darci is our 2 yr old female ( spayed ) she's sweet, a really good dog, we also have 2 cats, sometimes darci can get a bit jealous of the cats, if the cats are in our laps she wants to be too, that kind of thing, but never mean with them, they actually play at times. I am trying to decide on the female or the male, which would make the better match???
Both puppies were really sweet, the female was the runt, she was tired when we were there played some then qiuckly fell asleep in my lap.
The little boy also a doll, played and played, sweet natured as well, maybe just a tad on the whinney side only at times, when away from his litter mates, and only briefly.

I cant decide who would be a better addition male or female, I want to make the best choice for darci and who she will get along with better.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

My personal opinion is that I like the mix of the male/female....they tend to have different personalities and I love the variety in my house.

I second Terri on this. I think introducing a male would be easier for Darci to accept IMO.

For what it is worth re: the cats and jealousy, my house is a much more peaceable kingdom since adding Mia.  Pofi is a male and perhaps somewhat submissive. We deliberately went with a female and tried to find one that was not overly dominant because I did not want him to be completely dominated in his own home.

And we thought, with the dogs able to entertain each other, that might give us a little more time for the cats. That was part of the outcome, but the unanticipated part is that Pofi is much less jealous of cat lap time and generally much less interested in the cats because he has Mia to play with. And the cats seem more comfortable and to be "owning" their space a bit more again.

I definetly agree with everyone one this one, the male would be better.

Or, you could just bring home both of them....then they'll have one another for the rough housing and your current girl can just be the Queen Bee......
