    Another Vehicle Related Question!

    Hey All!

I posted a short while ago about the possibility of having my dog in the back of my new wagon.

The car has arrived! It is great, and upon deciding he would be best in the middle I am now trying to find something to protect the seat! I am Canadian as a heads up, so links to purchasing online are appreciated, but hopefully companies will ship to me in ON.

In our old car we bought something from Canadian Tire that was meant to protect the back seat from hair, stains and all that comes with putting a dog in the back seat. When we originally bought it, it was great, but only held up for about two solid weeks and started to fall apart on us. I bought a seat cover today and tried it on, and while it surely would have worked to keep the hair off, it was no where near any bit water resistant/proof.

SO! I am on the hunt to not only have something to keep all that golden hair off of my seats, prevent water from getting through and be semi-convenient to get on and off my seat.

I am going to make a trip to an upholster (sp?) place and see what they have for ideas, but it would then have the potential to get costly!

I don't have a vehicle that is out of the oridinary size wise, and I still need the seat belts to get through and connect for use of his seat belt!

Can't wait to hear ideas, thanks as always!

That one came up in my original search, I like the idea, but definitely am skeptical!

Do you own it, or just have seen it?!

Maybe I will email them and see if shipping it here is an option. That will start to form my answer!

    Thanks!

Not too long ago I was looking for seat covers too. I found Petsmart online to be the cheapest (even over their in-store prices) Not sure about shipping to Canada either though. You could also check ebay, you can still find a good deal on there once in a while.

(edit) Walmart has some cute ones with paw prints too.

I bought mine at Petsmart but it's the cargo holder, not the seat covers.  I used to use a thick blanket on the seat itself, with a sheet over top of that and tucked into the back behind it and under neath.  That worked pretty well and I could pull the whole thing out and throw it in the wash.  I would often have a wet dog or two in there as well and I never noticed any problems with water going through to the seats or if it did, any kind of smell from it!  But I cleaned my car out every so often too.

The cargo liner I have is nice, it's washable and water resistant I believe.  Or maybe waterproof... I know the company makes the same material in a bench seat cover where you can pull the seat belts through.  I almost got that for my car but the thick blanket and sheet worked fine in my sedan.  For my minivan, I wanted something to really protect and stay put in the back where the crates are now.

I have just seen.  Why are you skeptical?

    Thanks for more replies!

We have Petsmart and Walmart, so maybe I should go on an adventure.

I emailed the above link for their product, shipping, etc. It would be $86.57 to get it to me, on top of the product cost -No thank-you!

I'm interested in buying something similar. Please post your experience with it once it arrives! Max rides with me just about everywhere, and I need something that will be easy to remove and clean. I particularly want to know how well it stays in place.

    I have it!

I bought it right from the store.

That is my only peeve with it now, it's staying in place, but really in its little shuffling it's still covering and staying where I need it to. I can loosen and tighten the head rest straps to give it less mobility, but I like the longer length I have them at.

I will update with more use! So far I am definitely happy.
